Moving...Any Comcast or Vonage specials out there?

Recommended Posts

We are moving to NH from VT and will FINALLY have access to cable and high-speed internet. Would love to know of any good deals you know of that would allow us to save some cash to set up our accounts with Comcast (the condo is already wired for cable) and Vonage.

Should we look for a B&M special for Vonage, or do those no longer exist? I did get a coupon from USPS as part of my change of address process for 2 free months of Vonage. Is that a good deal?

And lastly, is there a reason for us to have Verizon phone service in the most basic format they offer, just for a back up? Not 100% sure we will have cell reception there.

Thanks in advance!

i dont know about the states you are moving to, but comcast always has a special going on...got mine dirt cheap! in june, they had a special going I took advantage of...12 monthsof digital cable with all hbo channels &encore for 35.00 a month/internet service was 20.00 a month +3.00 modem rental for 6 months....great deal in my opinion! my total price is 1$ more than just the basic dish network channels I had before and no internet!! I also have verizon and it has better coverage than any around here, and I am in the mountains of tennessee!

don't know what part of NH you are moving to. If it is the Nashua/Salem area - no need for a landline, VOIP and cell should be fine.

If you are up north, I would suspect that cell and VOIP will not be adequate during a snow, ice or wind storm, and you'll find great comfort in having a landline.

Great advice. My dad has Comcast and got what sounds like the same sort of deal that you did shawna 6676. I will be sure to ask for whatever bundle deals they have.

Conj, we are moving to Enfield which is the exit just past Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center on I-89. So Upper Valley area. No Verizon DSL but they do have the Comcast and I believe my cell phone works there as well. I *think* that even if we don't have regular landline service that as long as we bring along a phone to plug in for emergencies when cable/power is out we could still dial 911. Anyone know if that is still the case?

I'll be happy to see our phone bill less, especially now that we will have lots of call to VT where our families still live (for the most part)!
