any introductory airlines?

my grandfather passed away tonight and i'm trying to find an airline ticket for my sister to come from denver,co to greenville/spartanburg, sc for the funeral. i know that there have been new airlines offering VERY cheap flights... anyone know of any that would go between colorado and south carolina? thanks

Sorry to hear of your Grandfather's passing.

 

For specific prices, it would probably help to know the exact airports she could fly from/to.

 

Don't quote me, but years ago airlines used to offer hardship discounts for funerals involving a death in the family. I don't know if they still do, but it's worth calling and asking. You would need to call each airline individually, not a travel web site. They may need a copy of the death certificate to offer the rates.

try priceline, it can be a bit risky in finding an exact time, but if someone is traveling solo without a lot of family or kids details to worry about, it can work. I flew for $275 r/t from Detroit to LA a few years back, on a 48 hours notice...

 

Try Southwest too, they are just better about customer service sometimes.

I don't know if this is too late for you but I have never found any bereavement fares to be

workth asking for. Try Allegiant(don't know if they fly from Co) or Hotwire if you want to pick your flight times. If you are willing to be flex.than the priceline suggestion is correct. You can expect very off peak hours usually but it can be worth the discount. My condolences on your loss....
