  1. I like apple and all...BUT, come on..do a real sale for all the stuff you sell! I hate how it is so fair priced...5 bucks off is still money...but you would think they could do a little more here and there...
  2. we had a good experience at RS this morning...got there at 5:30, only 3 in line until about 5:50, then about 15 of us...the first person wanted a zune and one of the employees was out front for a bit, he said 'we got about 1, it's stupid they only sent us a few", but we had all talked and I did not want the zune. I got everything and a few other things...they had some stuff on sale which was not BF, but still a good deal. Card readers for 4.97, also got this cool tripod, card reader and case for a mini camcorder for 9.97. Their scanners were goofed though, so had to go back 2x to price adjust...it was sort of funny but annoying...will check my receipts for the right totals! The frames were gone by 11 AM...MIO was hot too.
  3. I bought the RS one today, it's decent...you can play around with the settings to make the pictures the full screen, or a bit boxed, sort of like watching non HD TV with the sidebars. I think it's pretty decent, better than the one from Target last year. I think these will go down in price in the next year (ditto to everyone else who has said this!). I don't think you can truly compare unless you look at them side by side...but, the resolution on this one is good, a little pixelish up close, but I told hubby you would not be staring at it from 6 inches away! We will play with for awhile and maybe give to inlaws for xmas if we see something we like better before then... But, for 99 instead of $200. I do like the frame and it's not "plasticky" looking compared to some. I saw some neat ones earlier this week at (Brookstone?) which had three pictures in the frame which changed around, pretty neat.
  4. Radio Shack at 5:30 AM Digital photo frame (Seems decent, has anyone heard anything?) 49.99 mini camcorder for my aunt SD card, 14.99 CD pack of 10 for 9.99 (not sure if the best deal ever, but a good one, TDK) 32 in 1 card reader 2 tripods (7.99) Olympus Camera 200 down to 129, came with charging battery, nice, very small! clock SD card holder, card reader cooling pad for computer, usb a few other odds and ends Target, tons and tons of DVDs! Staff in both places were really nice, but the RS scanner kept ringing up full price so had to go back 2x to fix! Target manager was great, came out and told people if they ran, they would kick them out! They only had 3 of the TVs, so he took the first three people to get them the TVs
  5. that's not bad for a ticket...try Southwest, they usually run some good deals, or spirit... Try Priceline if you have some flexibility Be wary on the timeshare deal, sometimes a "quick" session turns into all day and then the tickets are limited to what you can do...and you wasted time you could be at the park. Try AAA, or the Disney website for any deals... maybe buy a park hopper you can use again later this year if you plan to go, the more days you buy the cheaper it is.
  6. I don't think alcohol at a wedding is always needed, I like the suggestion of doing an afternoon wedding or even a Sunday afternoon. You can also be at a risk of being liable if something happens as a result. For saving money, make your own favors, don't go crazy on the cost of your dress, there are a lot of similar styles and you can usually find something cheaper which is close. One thing with doing an ipod is if you have any issues with the technology and set up this can be frustrating. Even ask a friend to run this or hire a DJ who is maybe from a local campus radio station or a new business and offer to really advertise. however, whatever you do for a DJ make sure they don't act like your wedding is an audition for being the next great radio DJ! I was at a wedding where the DJ talked after every song..blah! Ask people to help with all the little things so you can enjoy the day. Things like doing your guest book, picking things up to take between the church and hall, paying the DJ etc...don't make yourself have to deal with any business on your special day! Start a tradition of using the same wedding knife as a friend or sibling, or parent...you can add your wedding date to it and then pass it along. If you are getting married in the same church as someone else, see if you can share altar flowers to cut costs?
  7. I had a dream there was a website you could use to look all this stuff up...then I woke up and logged into gottadeal and saw the first ad posted! Yeah for BF!!
  8. Not sure if this is up yet, but there are XM Radio and Sirrus radio giftcards which are 50% off. So a $55 giftcard was 27.50. You can use for service already in place, we bought 3, added them to our account and since we paid for a year, we got an extra month free! They were in the electronics area clearance, directly behind the counter area.
  9. we went to a Disney outlet store (was one in Sawgrass mills in FL) not sure where there are other ones, and bought several things before we went to the park. We then saw a lot of the same stuff, for 2x or 3x the outlet price. We bought a really nice autograph book which was metal with moveable pages for about $5? It was more at the park. you might also find a Disney notebook at a dollar store, or somewhere which you can decorate as someone suggested. Or, even get a small sprial notebook and put in index cards which the kids can decorate. Also, I had not been in several years, but one thing I noticed about Disney earlier this year is many of the gifts you can buy are very streamlined. While there are a zillion giftstores, they are all about the same in each of them. I think there are more unique Disney things elsewhere. Another thing you can do, is take a roll of quarters and some shiny pennies. They have those money smash machines all over the park. But don't buy a Disney penny book, get one before you leave at maybe a bookstore or another tourist type place. It is 51 cents to do each one, but the kids could each do a few of their favorites. They also take a minute or so to do which is fun! Another tip, if you can do a character meal, they are worth doing and a lot of fun! However, if the kids don't eat much, it can seem pricy. But, the park is $$ anyways! However, it's like a show and a meal at the same time. Take your own snacks (low melt stuff like nuts, goldfish crackers etc) because it adds up quickly. We bought a case of water before we arrived and had it at our hotel. If anyone is celebrating a birthday when you go (or another special day) tell them at guest relations and they will give you a pin (or if it's a first visit) they will then say "Welcome XX" Or "Happy birthday XX' when you walk around. Sorry, more advice than needed, but just some recent good things we did!
  10. try priceline, it can be a bit risky in finding an exact time, but if someone is traveling solo without a lot of family or kids details to worry about, it can work. I flew for $275 r/t from Detroit to LA a few years back, on a 48 hours notice... Try Southwest too, they are just better about customer service sometimes.
  11. we had problems with a wedding list, their stuff is so seasonal, that by the time our date came around, half the stuff was not in stock. I have had good luck with our service, but have not tried a bunch of coupons. However, compared to what is here, ours is always a click behind in what is on sale.
  12. They have really nice beach towels on clearance, 50% off, so they are between 4.98 and 9.xx...bought some last year and they wash up well.
  13. I don't know if anyone has put this up lately, but I had been checking the Fisher Price Fp3 players a few months back when others said they were on clearance. They were not here, but I saw them the other day at 41.98, so I did a scan and they were 14.98!! Not sure how well they work, but VERY excited for the deal!
  14. I can understand the frustrations on employees, but how many cranky shoppers did they have to deal with? If you have ever worked in retail or waitressed, or any other crappy service job, I think you should be able to pull some items. But, maybe stores should create a seniority system, or a limit...especially if there are only like 12 items of one thing.
  15. I like the regional idea... Also, maybe to know when the on line sites will start working? Staples seemed to go off line for a bit, and I could not log into check out the deals at 12:01 EST. Second on the price matching deals, this would be helpful Maybe if there was a way to see each item compared, so you know if the same item is at several places, you know the price? Maybe a link to cnet ratings or something on the different items? Hard to tell from "opinions" but sometimes a deal does not meal quality. YOU guys are great! It would be cool if all the stores we promote would send out an early link for a coupon to the site...like $5 off or something...but post it earlier in the season!
  16. I did not need to go to Staples so early...got all of what I wanted and could have still picked up more. A funny story though, we had to wait in a long check out line, so in the back at the chair demos, this guy in front of us was like "I am going to buy this chair" so he sat and rolled in his chair for 2 hours, got to the front, and said "I don't really like this one" so he left it by the check out! It was funny and SMART!
  17. The staff at Staples made my day...I had bought the 29.99 creative mp3 player, but I did not notice the clerk put the 1gb in my pile of items...so later when I got home I realized I had the wrong one. I called the store and the person who answered was really rude and was like "we have been out of those since 8 AM!" I told her I was really frustrated because I was in line at 5:00 AM and spent a chunk of change there today. She gave the phone to the manager who told me to come back in, make a return, and they would order it for me from the website. It was out of stock, but somehow they found it, are having it sent, free shipping, and at the same price. Our Staples staff was great!
  18. The person who came to Staples at 10 AM and asked if they had any of the computers left!
  19. Staples was great with handing out tickets, but terrible with check out! You had to go to two different lines for things, and one was all the small items like the flash drives and gps unit. The main check out was not bad, but the line to pick up items was 2+hours unless you dove into it first!

    GPS Unit

This was one of the main reasons I went to Staples on BF, I was about 20th in line and could have picked up every ticket they had (even passed on the computer!). I got one for my hubby, and when I went back later they still had 4 left, wish I had one to put on e-bay!
