I plan to start taking some collge classes online in January and I would like a notebook to do all my school work on so I am not always taking up the home computer. I know I want a Sony Vaio but I don't know much about notebooks. Is this a good deal or is there something better out there? TIA!!

If your only route is the Sony Vaio then check this out http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&XID=O:vgn%2dcr190e%2fw:dg_cnetdf&kw=vgn%2Dcr190e%2Fw&lp=8198552921665157461&productId=8198552921665157461

I believe it is the same laptop as the specs would suggest, but the one you showed does have the 3 year extended warranty, which is worth the extra couple of hundred bucks.:)

If you would rather pick it up in a store if there's a best buy near you...

Rather pricey. You can probably get a laptop with everything you need for much less from Dell or HP. What do you need it to do? If it's just Microsoft Office type stuff, you can get a laptop for that for much less.

You pay a little more for the Sony name and style, but I believe it's worth it. No one wants an ugly piece of crap.

I've used Sony Vaios for years with no problems and excellent build quality. Good luck with the purchase.
