I want to get an exercise machine but I have no idea what to buy. What I'm looking for is to tone up a little- especially my lower body- but I'd like an "all-in-one" machine (frankly because I don't like to exercise and I know I wouldn't mess with a routine if I had to drag out 2 or 3 pieces of equipment).

I've looked at several machines but it's kinda overwhelming. Any suggestions that won't kill my bank account?

If you are looking to go with the least amount of money, then get a Gazelle. They are about 89-99 bucks. I love mine. I have been using it for over 2 years. It works every muscle in your legs and butt, too. If you keep your arms on the poles like you are supposed to, then there is a benefit to the upper body, too. Very easy on the joints. You do not bend the knees and the feet stay flat, so no slamming your feet and ankles.

I lost 32 pounds 2 years ago and credit the Gazelle with getting my butt in shape and keeping it that way. :yup: HTH

I have the XL Glider which I bought from QVC and I love it!!!

It does work all your body parts, folds up for storage and has the power

pistons, IIRC the gazelle does not include those. They make it so you can

have different levels of exercise.

XL Glider is the name and most of the time it is on easy pay :P

Good Luck

That thing looks nearly identical to the Gazelle. Same principal, anyway.

I have the xl glider and love...when I use it!! I have a question for those of you who actually use it...How long are you riding it and how often to help you loose weight? I am a slacker!!!

I use the Gazelle usually 6 night a week. I go at least 3 miles at a rate of about 12 minutes per mile. If I am feelin' good, I go a little longer.

"Slackin'" will not work on ANY exercise machine. Posted Image

IIRC the Gazelle does not have the "power pistons" and the XL does, that way you can

vary the intensity of your work out.

My monitor on mine slides around upside down so I never really know how far I have gone. Grrr...but I do jump on every a.m. for at least 10 minutes!!! Most evenings as well. I just haven't stepped up to long rides!!

Mine spends more time with clothes hanging on it than me :worried:

That is BAD!

When the Gazelle wears out, I think I will look into this XL thing. I like the idea of adjusting the ....tension? Is that what you would call it?

Now that nice weather is here, DH and I usually go for a 15 mile bike ride every night after supper and 30 miles on the rare occasion we have the same day off together.
