DaveL Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Meritline.com has the Wii Component Cable for $8.99 with free standard shipping! This is a great deal considering Best Buy and Circuit City sell 'em for $29.99. In researching Meritline.com they seem to be a good merchant, just sometimes slow to ship. I went ahead and ordered one for myself. To play Wii in 480p isn't worth $30 but I am willing to pay $9! Thought I would pass it on to all you other Wii owners. http://www.meritline.com/480-p-hd-component-cable.html
Ripn Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Thank you DaveL, Yes $9 seems worth it. Just as a sidenote, my mcafee site advisor warned me about Meritline...basically a few warnings about giving them your email address...they give it out. Use a bulk email for them, or just leave the email address out of your order.
DaveL Posted April 19, 2007 Author Posted April 19, 2007 I used Google Checkout! :) Allowed me not to give them my email.
Ripn Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 Amazing!!! I ordered 4-18, received the cable via USPS today... 4-21 btw, I payed with Paypal
civicracinggirl7 Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 For those that have it, is there really any difference (between the component and a/v)? EDIT: This looks like the iMax Wii component cables that you can get from Amazon's Marketplace for ~$6.41 shipped (lowest price): http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B000M5ZIVY/ref=dp_olp_0/104-9925446-4435969?ie=UTF8&qid=1177436196&sr=8-4&condition=all
Ripn Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Yes, the cable I bought from Meritline.com does look just like the picture on Amazon.
civicracinggirl7 Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Yes, the cable I bought from Meritline.com does look just like the picture on Amazon.I went ahead and ordered the Amazon one yesterday. For $6.41, I'll leave that one connected at home and use the a/v cable for when I transport the Wii to someone else's house... which will save me from having to keep the a/v cables plugged into the front of the tv at home and make it look a little nicer lol. :) Also, if anyone else is wondering if there is a difference, I found the following page that has mouse-over images showing the difference. I have 3 of the 4 games pictured, so it gave me a better idea. :) http://www.gamespot.com/features/6162297/p-2.html
DaveL Posted April 28, 2007 Author Posted April 28, 2007 I am doing the same thing....using the component at home and the A/V that came with the Wii for travel. There is a slight difference, worth it for $8, not $20.
