lilac100
The bike gets them out of the house and playing with others. Ok maybe I wouldn't haven't done the motorized thing but if he is ready go for it.
jarerice
The bike is battery powered, but can go fast.
jbdinos
The bike gets them out of the house and playing with others. Ok maybe I wouldn't haven't done the motorized thing but if he is ready go for it.The Wii keeps them moving and involved with others or alone too. If you go with that just go ahead and get a second controller because they really need to keep the wrist strap on at that age and it sucks having to trade it back and forth, esp in bowling... I am not a big fan of video games, but my DH is so of course our kids have them all it seems. Especially in the summer I would rather them go outside and get exercise (I voted for the trikke for that reason) BUT on rainy days and in the winter he will need something to do inside and the Wii at least keeps their butts off the couch and moving a little bit. My two oldest boys are 10 and 11 and my husband has a Wii and they put their bday $$ from relatives together and got a PSP to share. But they would be equally excited to get any of the things from that list. Doesn't matter what you pick, you cannot go wrong. Good luck and have fun! littlesdcen
I am having the same problem on May 28, Nine year old boys are hard to buy for. We have the Wii and my 2 sons LOVE it. You can play it hot/cold Rainy/sunny We even have faimly night bowling and boxing tournaments. He already has a dirt bike but it is gas powered. He has been riding since he was 4. I really think the battery powered one would be a waste on money for a 9 year old. The scooter thing is nice if you have lots of pavement. I vote for the Wii. Plus with the wii it gives you options for other holidays with all the games and acc.

What you think I should get him out of these choices? http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/razorama_1941_2129828 That's which one I vote for. We got our son one of these for Christmas and he LOVES it!!! He would also love the Wii if we could ever find one, or are heeleys a possibility? My son asks for them every time he sees someone with them, that's what we're considering for his birthday. What's a RipStik?
shopping mom
My youngest son is 16 and he loves his PSP. I like the scooter for exercise and the Wii We may get ours a Wii for Christmas this year. If I find one I am going to go ahead and get it.
jarerice
He already has a Fuzon scooter, but saw a kid with the Trikke one, and wanted it. One of his friends have a dirt bike and he rides his, but our yard isn't as big as theirs. But it still big. I scared I won't be able to find a WII. The Ripstik is pretty cool. It between a snowboard and a skate board. Here's it what I found on it:This fun new toy by Razor Scooters is a cross between a snowboard and a skateboard, and it allows you to accelerate without pushing! Simply move your hips back and forth and the board's design allows you to gain momentum and propels you forward. The Ripstik is extremely durable and well-made, with caster trucks, poly-urethane wheels, and a grip tech system for the deck to keep your feet in place! Learn tricks and more with this latest craze! The PSP, I know I can get my hands on one and he says it would like to have it. But he would like any of these, but I just don't know which one I should get him!!!! jarerice
Well after I showed all of this to DH, he thin kwe should get him a GAS POWERED four wheeler. It's a kind of like a pocket bike/ four wheeler. Here it is: http://www.powersportsmax.com/images/PocketBikes/PB-K005/150.jpg It can go up to 40 MPH!!!! But it is really cool. And I do agree, if we are paying 279.00 for a battory powered bike, why not pay some more and get something that will last a long time. But I was already afraid of the dirt bike, so this thing scares the hell out of me. He could really ger hirt!!! And I woul dnever be able to forgive myself. dmmiller
Thats a pretty cool 4-wheeler. I like that better than the dirtbike. But if you go with either.. definately get the helmet. :)
laffnatu
How old is your son?11 I was worried about him not being able to hold it up, but he hasn't had a problem with it. He's done pretty well with it and wears his helmet everytime without me having to get on him.lol. I like that it doesn't take gas and it is so quiet. All he has to do is make sure it's charged up. Haley28
How old is your son? He's almost 8. We got the blue one because it is not as fast as the red one. His goes about 12 MPH which is pretty fast for him. He rides it around our yard. We have a fairly large yard for him to ride. The box says 12 years and up, but it fits my son perfectly, and I would think a 12 year old would be too big for it.
jarerice
I bought the Ripstik, but I got it for 68.00. I am going to see if my mom wants to give that to him. That way I can maybe get a dirt bike for him.
jarerice
Ok, my mom is giving him the Ripstik. I bought the PSP, like an hour ago and now I'm having second thoughts. I think he would like the dirtbike better. What do you think? This is just to hard.
shopping mom
If you got the PSP at a good price save it for Christmas and get the dirt bike. I have a feeling you would like to give him both though.

DramaQueenLucy
DS 9 says that he likes: 1) Bike= Jacob "I like this one it is really cool!" 2) Four Wheeler= Jacob "Wow, his Mom will let him get one of those" Me "Nope you can't get one" 3) Wii= Jacob "He doesn't have a Wii yet?" Me "No not every child got one for Christmas!" 4) Razor Trikke= Jacob "Yeah it is OK but I would really want the bike" 5) Ripstick I told Jacob that he was already getting this one maybe from his Grammy. 6) PSP= Jacob "No I don't want one of those" Me "Why?" Jacob " 'cause the DS can connect to your Wii wireless." Me " I didn't know that it could do that" Jacob "It can't yet but Joe, DS15, says that it will be able to soon." Joe yelling from other room "Yup that is what I read" So there you go a kids point of view I don't know if this helps you at all but I thought it was cute so I wanted to share.
