dmmiller
We thinking of replacing our carpet in our bedrooms.. and I keep seeing advertisements for Empire.. Does anyone have any experiences with this company? Currently they are running 50% off sale, but I'm not too sure how this company operates, and dont want to get sucked into something. Also, if you used them.. how was the quality of they're carpet? TIA
decafmom
I used Empire about a year ago. They use contractors to install the carpet, so you never know who you're going to get to install it. I am completely NOT impressed with the quality of the carpet or the installation. I regret using them.
dmmiller
ewww.. Okay, thanks :) Glad I asked. LOL I was thinking since its 50% off, My fear is they'd use the bottom of the barrel of carpets.
AndreaInNC
I thought they were expensive when they came out and gave me a quote.
decafmom
Their pricing was reasonable compared to other quotes I had received. We have high quality berber throughout the house, but it is very light in color. We have been in this house almost 8 years so we decided to replace the great room carpet as it was beginning to look worn in the high traffic areas. I wish I had stuck with my gut and gone with the local place. The berber that they installed is cheap. I would have finished this thought earlier, but when I posted I was on hold with the doctor's office and he said if I could get there by 11:30 he would see my son before lunch so I cut my post short. :)
Kayakmom
I just researched this a couple days ago because I'm thinking of new carpet for the boys' room. I found lots of complaints of "bait and switch". The accusations were that they'd come out and sell a certain grade of carpet. When it was install day after you'd already moved all your stuff from the room, they'd call and say that they were out of stock on that product and they'd give you something better. Something better was, in fact, bottom of the barrel. Other complaints stated that the installed item was not the same as the sample. After that I stopped considering them and I'll look around locally as soon as the kids are better. I bought carpet at Home Depot years ago and had good luck with it. I'm going to check some of the local discount carpet places, too.
mollannie
They came out and gave me a quote and it was EXPENSIVE compared to the carpet stores I shopped at AND the quality didn't seem good. They didn't have a big selection either. Also, they added about 8 yards to what I really needed. So, if I would have gone with them, I would have paid a lot more than I should have. I wouldn't use them or recommend them.
MelissaS
Just the commercials alone make me not want to use them! They have the most obnoxious commercials!
