Because they connect to the internet via USB cable to configure your components. These remotes are powerful but anyone can use them. It's nice being able to press ONE button which turns on your TV, selects the right input, the volume is set at the right level and the DVD Player opens ready for the movie.

anyone know what the differences are between this remote, and say the 600, and 800 series models other than price? I have asked around at local stores and none of the employees have a clue.....

If you're using ad blocking software or norton internet security disable it.
