amyers12345 Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 DD finally escaped her crib this week, but this doesn't sound like a good, every day, alternative, does it?
jcarr492 Posted December 8, 2006 Author Posted December 8, 2006 I don't know..my sil ordered one for her 4 year old. she's been trying to get her out of their bed for 2 yrs. LOL. She said she's using this until she knows she'll stay and use it then invest in a bigger bed for her. I would say its probably like sleeping on an air mattress...nothing wrong with that. dh and I did it for months when he was working out of state and we didn't invest in furniture..we lived on bean bags, lawn chairs w/tv trays, and an air mattress!!! Ohhhh the good ole days!!!!
shay_n_sc Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 The reviews aren't that good. I want to get one for my niece but don't want to give my sister a headache if its a dud.
tavera Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 how old is your DD that has climbed out of the crib now? the recommended age is 6-8 years according to the details on this bed on Amazon - could be because a younger child might be able to get their face stuck or obstruct their breathing, etc.. looks better for like an overnite stay at grams, IMO. But it is cute..
amyers12345 Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 I saw that... she's 2. My son is was fairly small, smaller than others his age, and he outgrew his toddler bed between 4 and 5. How can an 6-8 year old be considered a toddler? Thanks for the advice, I don't think I'll be purchasing this one. It doesn't look worth the headaches for an overnite stay.
tavera Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 there are a couple other real toddler beds on amazon.com - there is even a strawberry shortcake one for $30 that has great reviews AND free shipping - but there is no pic.. do a search for toddler bed on amazon..
amyers12345 Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 thank you! I have prime and never thought to look there!
niccci Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 There is a strawberry Shortcake toddler bed at Target.com I bet its the same one as advertised on Amazon and you can see the picture there. I cant post the URL.. too new but I found it by typing in strawberry toddler bed. Maybe that will help
sbsahm Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 I bought the Spiderman for my stepsons who are only here on weekends and are scared to sleep in their own room, they were 6 and 8 at the time and they popped it within a few weeks.
sbsahm Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 DD finally escaped her crib this week, but this doesn't sound like a good, every day, alternative, does it?No! Major suffocation risk. The inflatable mattress sits inside the inflatable frame and there is quite a big gap. My 2 year old wanted to play on his brothers and sleep with them, but he could easily get stuck in the sides.
iammykidsmama Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 WOW! I ordered mine an hour ago and I just got the email that it has shipped.
sunnysky24 Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Mine popped the first day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BAD BAD BAD!!!
