mom_of2boyz
Does anyone here have kids that play XBOX Live? My son has wanted it for the last 2 years. Any opinions?
tenthday
I don't have children, but my husband and I have x-box live. There is a filtered section for playing in, in which you aren't supposed to be able to swear at one another. I would look into that because there is a lot of "adult themed conversation" that can occur.
indallas
Does anyone here have kids that play XBOX Live? My son has wanted it for the last 2 years. Any opinions?I just purchased an XBOX 360 this weekend for my son who is 10 and him and DH are already playing with it and I have no problems with my son playing online. Enjoy, it's a great system. billsmith
It depends on what games they play. I enjoy Halo 2, but there is a lot of swearing, etc. from the players. Be careful.
mom_of2boyz
This isn't something that is set in stone. I've pretty much got him all that he's getting, BUT....you never know what kind of deal might pop up, and he's still talking about wanting one. shockwave78
My sons 7, we have a 360 but I dont let him go on live, I probably will now since I found all the options to disable voice on live to hear or talk.
raymacfla
Computer games online can be free(not MMO'S), unlike xbox live. something else to consider if you have a pc that can run newer generation games.

Florida Girl
Does anyone here have kids that play XBOX Live? My son has wanted it for the last 2 years. Any opinions? My son has one, if I am not mistaken you don't have to put the headphones on the hear and have the conversation but you can still play the games live against someone else. I will ask my son and get back w/ you. I asked my husband about not listening will playing the game; if you don't use the headphones if they come with the package you can still play the games against someone else or you can set the settings but that does not guaruntee that the other person may not use offensive language still. Best option: don't use headphones.
