snedecor Posted November 25, 2006 Share Posted November 25, 2006 Last year at Fry's in Webster, TX, there were about 1500 people in line when the store opened. It was a madhouse, with internal lines in the store to select merchandise, and a conga-like line of about 1000 people wrapped around and around in the store to check out. This year, the Thursday Fry's Ad was very lack-luster, with only one motherboard-processor deal, 1 laptop, a couple of TV's etc. We thought that maybe the best deals came out in Friday's paper, but when it came, it was not much better than the Thursday ad! We decided to go to Best Buy first this year, what a riot (almost literally), and arrived at Fry's about 8:00. There were people in the store, but not a crush. There was NO line to get to checkers. There were almost as many Fry's employees as customers. They could come up to you and ask "Can I help you find something?" To one, I sarcastically replied, yeah, where are the deals?
