  1. VERY disppointed in the online Fry's Black Friday Sales. Some places said it started at 5 AM today Pacific Time, some said at 5 AM your local time. I got up at 5 local time (3 Pacific Time) and clicked on the email that I was sent on 11/26 with the code, and the tempting deals. They all said coming soon (basically in two hours (which would have been 5 AM Pacific Time) At about 5:45 I checked again and most of the things I were interested iin were OUT OF STOCK! OK, they tell me to wait two hours, and after 45 minutes they are gone????? Way to run a sale, Frys! But wait! It gets better! I found the few straggling items that were still in stock and put them in my cart. Went to check out and put in my special code and get the red error text. "THIS CODE IS NOT VALID OR DOES NOT APPLY TO THE ITEMS IN YOUR CART" WHAT???? I clicked on the email that YOU sent me, copied and pasted the code that YOU sent me, and you're telling me it's not valid? OK, clear all the cookies, restart the browser and try again. Now, there is no place in the checkout screen to even attempt to put in the codes. Looks like they realized they screwed the pooch and removed the code entry option. Not good, Fry's NOT GOOD.
  2. Is Northern Tool only at stores, or do they do online sales? There is not one near me, but I found something that I would like to buy, so it it's online, maybe I can get lucky!
  3. Fry's web site is getting hammered. Lots of load failures... Computer maker, work on your web hosting and web site design!
  4. Rats! My order of the Kitchenaid stand mixer, 4.5 qt for $143.99 was just CANCELLED! No reason was given.
  5. Back up at 9:30 PM CST. Of course, all the items in my shopping cart are gone and "discontinued". Oh well, someone else will get my $$$'s
  6. Crashed as of 8:30 CST PM. Epic Fail...
  7. Brad, I just clicked on your page that shows deals available now. There are 5 items in that list. The router is one of them, but I don't see how to get the free item, I guess there's a rebate that is not live yet.
  8. Items are coming online as we speak! Question: The Dlink wireless N router is supposed to come with free adapter. How do we know which adapter is free, and do we just add it to our cart?
  9. It looks to me like the prices were set way back in February or somethin'. With the current economic crisis, I've seem similar prices RIGHT NOW. Some of their LAST YEAR stuff was better than this (22" LCD $149, TomTom $99, etc.) Oh well, save some sleep, anyway.
  10. Can't celebrate until we do the: Rebates! Last year I had about $500 worth of rebates to send off for. So that whole rest of the day is spent: 1) Scanning the receipts, 2) Filling out the rebate forms, 3) Scanning the filled out rebate forms, 4) Cutting out the UPC's (and copying them for multiple rebate offers) 5) Scanning the UPC's 6) Entering the rebate information in spreadsheet, 7) Printing out envelopes addressed with the info from the spreadsheet 8) Assembling the envelopes, stamping, etc. 9) Scanning the completed envelopes under high intensity light which shows the UPC, form, receipt, etc in the envelope, (to help with "you didn't send in the UPC" excuse) 10) Putting the envelopes in the mail box. I'm getting tired already....
  11. People standing behind me (I'm about 250th in line) "Do you think they'll still have any of those $200 Laptops left when we get in?"
  12. Last year at Fry's in Webster, TX, there were about 1500 people in line when the store opened. It was a madhouse, with internal lines in the store to select merchandise, and a conga-like line of about 1000 people wrapped around and around in the store to check out. This year, the Thursday Fry's Ad was very lack-luster, with only one motherboard-processor deal, 1 laptop, a couple of TV's etc. We thought that maybe the best deals came out in Friday's paper, but when it came, it was not much better than the Thursday ad! We decided to go to Best Buy first this year, what a riot (almost literally), and arrived at Fry's about 8:00. There were people in the store, but not a crush. There was NO line to get to checkers. There were almost as many Fry's employees as customers. They could come up to you and ask "Can I help you find something?" To one, I sarcastically replied, yeah, where are the deals? I hope Fry's.com did better than this store did!

    BBuy Monitors

Son and I scored 2 (actually 4) of the Westinghouse 22" widescreens We split up and both went with intent to grab 2 and phone the other. I got to the stack first (about 10 left) and got 2 and went off to look for him. He got delayed and got to the stack with 4 left and got 2. When he answered, I said, I've got 2!, he said "I've got 2 also!" We had to put 2 back, they were limit 1 per customer. This was Webster, TX . We got in line at 1:00 AM and were 201-202 in line. We were lucky to get these SWEET Monitors.
  14. Got 3 Houston Chronicles this morning. The usual suspects are there, except for: No COMPUSA! That seemed strange to me, because the scanned AD I saw said "OPEN TONIGHT 9-midnight, 11/23/06" Anyone got an idea where the COMPUSA ad can be found in Houston?
