RedSoxFan88
Hey guys I am new here, awesome site! I was wondering if the TruTech 19'' LCD TV was worth the 178 dollars. I cant find anything on google about it. I was hoping if anyone knew if it came with a tuner so I can just hook it up to my cable outlet at college and watch TV. Hopefully I dont need any kind of special box to watch it. Thanks a bunch! RedSoxFan
snakeswiff
I asked this in the TV thread and didnt get an answer, I bought one anyway, as did my brother. He hooked his up yesterday and it looks pretty damn good to me...it has a nice picture...IMO it was a good deal! Did you get one?

ColleenF
For those who did buy one, I'm wondering how it's working now that they have had it few days. We hooked ours up Saturday along with an additional Dish Network receiver. The picture is pretty good compared to our existing TV (larger HDTV but not an LCD, both are on a regular signal, not HD). The Sound quality is also pretty good. Then the problems started. On either Saturday night or Sunday we started getting strange lines across the entire screen to the point where only large areas of color could be seen, not the image. Eventually it changed to almost all white with some black in it. Definitely the TV and not the satellite receiver as turning off the receiver does not fix. It just seems to happen at random, last night I had it on about 5 minutes and it just came and went, today I had it on for hours before I noticed it happening (although I have been mostly in the next room on the computer). Anyone else having these problems? This was by far the best TV deal we found (next was about $100 more, regular price at Sam's Club) so I'd hate to just get a refund. We're wondering if it's worth it to try to get them to send us another if they offer us that option. Anything anyone can tell me would be a huge help, we had no luck finding any reviews either on Target's site or by doing a Google search. Thanks, Colleen

ColleenF
I have not opened mine, Its a gift for my son, but my brother did open his...I will ask him.I'm looking forward to hearing what he says. Hopefully the one for your son works okay, it stinks when a gift doesn't work (had that last year with a radio I was given, ended up having to go back). Hubby spoke to tech support, they said they Video Filter on it is bad, has to go back to the store. We went to the Target we bought it at and they had none left. They offered a refund but as the price was so good we decided to hold onto this one a few days and see if we could exchange it. They gave us a list of other stores that supposedly had some but when we called about 5 minutes later none did (seemed more like it was just a list of stores within a certain distance rather than an actual stock check). Hubby checked in electronics real quick to see what the current offers were, he got the impression from the staff there that they had already seen a couple of these come back...may see a lot more after Christmas as a lot of folks probably won't open them until then. Return/exchange is 90 days so at least people will have time to deal with it. It's beginning to sound like there may have been a damaged shipment too, wondering if this is the only store with ones with issues. We'll see.
