elena_398
Im in Ohio and apparently the house in A Christmas Story is in Cleveland, Ohio. Who knew??!! Anyway, it went up for sale last year and a man from California who loves the movie didn't want just anyone to buy it.....He bought it and for the past year as been renovated it and bringing back to life. He turned the house into a museum to showcase all the props from the movie. It has everything from the "Leg Lamp"to origonal kichen items, furniture, etc. (And of course a Red Rifle Gun!!). It opened this past Saturday for the public. Looks just like the scenes from the movie. I talked to my husband and if the weather is good, hes going to bring the family next week. Im so excited! LOL. I absolutely LOVE this movie so looking forward to seeing it.

motoXmom
Yep they also have the original red snowsuit Ralphys little brother (I think it was) wore, where he couldn't put his arms down. It's amazing how many original items they have been either able to buy or have donated. One thing I didn't know was most of the movie was shot on a sound stage in Canada I believe, not in the actual house. Some were from in the house but not that many. At least that's what I heard on the news when they reported from there with the owner.
Guest JeepMom
If you google "Leg Lamp" you can purchase one! They average $150 + $50 shipping for the full size leg.

I think we may be going next week or the week after.
Melissa
Ohhhh, I wish I lived closer. I love that movie!! We always watch the 24 hour marathon on Christmas Eve, plus we own the dvd. It's a shame that Darren McGavin ("The Old Man") passed away this year.
