Im in Ohio and apparently the house in A Christmas Story is in Cleveland, Ohio. Who knew??!! Anyway, it went up for sale last year and a man from California who loves the movie didn't want just anyone to buy it.....He bought it and for the past year as been renovated it and bringing back to life. He turned the house into a museum to showcase all the props from the movie. It has everything from the "Leg Lamp"to origonal kichen items, furniture, etc. (And of course a Red Rifle Gun!!). It opened this past Saturday for the public. Looks just like the scenes from the movie. I talked to my husband and if the weather is good, hes going to bring the family next week. Im so excited! LOL. I absolutely LOVE this movie so looking forward to seeing it.

Yep they also have the original red snowsuit Ralphys little brother (I think it was) wore, where he couldn't put his arms down. It's amazing how many original items they have been either able to buy or have donated.

One thing I didn't know was most of the movie was shot on a sound stage in Canada I believe, not in the actual house. Some were from in the house but not that many. At least that's what I heard on the news when they reported from there with the owner.

My husband wants to see the leg lamp. LOL. Figures. I've just seen the movie so many times that I feel like I know the house if that makes sense. Im just so excited to go there. I want to take a pic of my husband next to the lamp. Haha. I think we may be going next week or the week after.

If you google "Leg Lamp" you can purchase one! They average $150 + $50 shipping for the full size leg.

I have a small table top one....my dad gave it to me last year for christmas! Its awesome! He was so funny, he wrapped the box in brown paper and wrote Fragile on it.....I almost wet my pants from laughing so hard!!!

Anyway, I would LOVE to go visit the museum....have to put that on my things to do list!
