I am hosting the Thanksgiving Feast this year like I always do and I usually try to get a few appetizer type foods and sit them out while the items are cooking. I want to maybe get a few new things this year aside from the typical usual stuff I have.

we usually do..........

cheese,

crackers,

summer sausage,

veggie tray,

deviled eggs,

What do you do for appetizer type stuff (that wont put me in the poor house)

That is what I usually do, I also do melon wrapped in pershuto(sp). Or asparagus wrapped in bacon and sauteed.

I like to make tortilla wraps

Mix softened cream cheese, green onions, olives and green chilies. Spread on flour tortillas. Roll and slice and serve with salsa.

emmmm that sounds good. A friend of ours used to do something similar w chopped beef and pickles anyone had that before.

Can you give exact recipe for the above please? amounts of each?

Thanks :)

INGREDIENTS:

5 large flour tortillas

1 bunch green onions, chopped

4 ounces chopped green chiles, drained

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

8 ounces sour cream

1/2 pound Cheddar cheese, shredded

salt and pepper to taste

salsa, sour cream, guacamole, or your favorite dip ideas

PREPARATION:

Have tortillas at room temperature. Place the remaining ingredients in a bowl mix with an electric mixer on low until well combined. Spread mixture thinly and evenly over tortillas to within 1/8-inch of edge. Roll up jelly-roll fashion and wrap each tortilla in plastic wrap. Refrigerate overnight. When ready to serve, slice in 3/4 inch rounds and arrange on serving plate. Serve plain or with salsa. Makes about 60 appetizers.

We like King's Hawaiian Bread and Spinach Dip. ( you can't really taste the spinach) the recipe is on the back of the KNORR'S Onion Soup Mix. It is REALLY good. I also make little pigs in a blanket along with some of the other things already mentioned.:D

I've made this using cream cheese and the marshmellow jar stuff. I think it's good with just about any type of fruit.
