Kellylumbard Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 I am hosting the Thanksgiving Feast this year like I always do and I usually try to get a few appetizer type foods and sit them out while the items are cooking. I want to maybe get a few new things this year aside from the typical usual stuff I have. we usually do.......... cheese, crackers, summer sausage, veggie tray, deviled eggs, What do you do for appetizer type stuff (that wont put me in the poor house)

mollannie Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 INGREDIENTS: 5 large flour tortillas 1 bunch green onions, chopped 4 ounces chopped green chiles, drained 8 ounces cream cheese, softened 8 ounces sour cream 1/2 pound Cheddar cheese, shredded salt and pepper to taste salsa, sour cream, guacamole, or your favorite dip ideas PREPARATION: Have tortillas at room temperature. Place the remaining ingredients in a bowl mix with an electric mixer on low until well combined. Spread mixture thinly and evenly over tortillas to within 1/8-inch of edge. Roll up jelly-roll fashion and wrap each tortilla in plastic wrap. Refrigerate overnight. When ready to serve, slice in 3/4 inch rounds and arrange on serving plate. Serve plain or with salsa. Makes about 60 appetizers.
mandifour Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 I always make roll ups with pickles and scallion onions. I take dried beef(in a jar),spread cream cheese on it, then roll up pickles in 1/2 and the onions in the other. Everyone LOVES them.
jenn293 Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 We like King's Hawaiian Bread and Spinach Dip. ( you can't really taste the spinach) the recipe is on the back of the KNORR'S Onion Soup Mix. It is REALLY good. I also make little pigs in a blanket along with some of the other things already mentioned.
