emsman1 Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 The link for the HP laptop for $379 from BB on BF is for model number: DV6108NR If you look closely at the scanned ad, the model number is listed as: DV6103NR Does anyone know why there is a difference?
Kalel Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 I think is a BF special edition. Both are the same!
harrisdude Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Hey – I noticed that too. I went to the HP website and the model that is listed on the BB ad doesn’t exist. However, I’m inclined to think that they are the same thing since the specs are alike.
jasonaltima Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 The same thing happened last year too. With the walmart hp laptop couldnt find it on there website until the day after BF.
krazybfmaniac Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 The model number i believe is DV6108NR
emsman1 Posted November 14, 2006 Author Posted November 14, 2006 Look at the ad - it's DV6103NR If you go to BB now and check it out online or in the store, it's DV6108NR
shoppergirllr Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 I have a feeling the DV6103NR does not have the Firewire I.eee 1393 port. This would be a shame as it was one of the things I wanted in the notebook. I called hp to see if they had any specs on the 6103NR and they said it was a best buy special, and they couldn't give me any specs on it. Now I doubt there will be an expansion slot to allow me to add a firewire port. At HP there is no DV6103NR but there is a DV6103ea and eu model, not a centrino processor, and no firewire port.
shoppergirllr Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 As a followup to my previous post i checked around the web for the HP DV6103NR and the only place I could find them was at ebaywebsite, and if their specs are correct on the auction listing, then it does have the firewire port! yipee!

EliteABombAZ Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Even if it doesn't, it should have pcmcia. You can get a pcmcia firewire card.I am hoping for intergrated Firewire... that way I can get a PCMCIA TV Card... or maybe a Bluetooth card.

Sigyn Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 I am well... I guess you can say a cheap person hehe plus I don't have alot of money to spend, but this will be my christmas present from my mom, she pays some and I pay the rest. I do alot of online surfing as well as gaming. Do you think this will be a good laptop? I also do abit of genealogy as well as take classes in college. Im just worried that it isn't worth the money, but it seems like a good deal. I also seen the router in the paper for $50 dollars, I am hopeing to get that also.
kamil Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Don't forget that with BB's laptop you can get a free-after-rebate printer from HP. I posted the deal earlier, but noone seemed to notice/care.

kamil Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Remember, must be a same day purchase on the printer to qualify for the rebate... I'd like to see Staples have their laptop in stock but run out of the rebate printers!
