southernmel1st
I am interested in going to Best Buy on Black Friday for the $379.99 Laptop deal. When do you think that I should get there in order to get one? Best Buy opens at 5 am that morning, how early should I be there so that I can be one of the first in line. I am fairly new at this and I am willing to fight tooth and nail for a laptop. I have waited a long time for one!!! Please help me!!
bayhaysay
VERY EARLY! I mean you may have to skip Thanksgiving dinner, lol. I've never camped out at BB but according to other posts here you should plan on being there at least by 8-9 pm. Maybe earlier.

Gurnee Al
Definitely sometime on Thanksgiving. There are numerous threads on this topic. Read through them and you'll see the consensus is probably Thurs evening. You may want to go online and check out Dell or HP between now and X-mas for some great laptop deals. JustJules
Last year we went on turkey day around 6pm, with chairs, fleece, food, water & soda, radio. Think there was about 30 of us, until around midnight then about 40 more joined us. Only thing we forgot was a potty. We got what we needed and were out of there within one hour, from the time we got inside and back out.
sm1kla
If you are going to BB plan on getting in line around 11 pm and making it an all nighter-Last year our local BB had a line curving around the building @ 2 am. They also took the fire codes into consideration, so once the store reach it's posted capacity, they limited the # of shoppers - (2 came out, 2 went in). I can only assume it will be worse this year because of the PS3 and Wii both newly released.
elena_398
I know from hearing about BB ever year in my area, if you want to be in the first 10, you have to be in line by 8pm or earlier.

Jenh1973
You'll have to camp out. Last year I went for the lap top deal. I though 3 am was early enough.. Geeezzz, did I think wrong. The line was already atleast a mile long.
southernmel1st
Thanks to all of you that posted replies! I'm not sure if it is worth it. Afterall, I'm only looking to save about $200. I might just end up buying just a cheap one at regular price. My husband probably won't enjoy the cold camping out thing. Thanks again!!
Bestbuy7
Depends on your location. At my nearest BB the line doesnt start until 4. You may see only 1- 3 people standing outside then by 5 .... its a huge crowd.
shardenblue
Watch for Dell Black Friday deals. I purchased a laptop for my daughter and saved hundreds last year, got free shipping, no sales tax, and no interest 12 months to pay. There will probably be similar deals this year.
