deelite Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I have never went to one before, I may want the tv though? how exactly does it work assuming my store opens at 6am?? Do people camp out? Is it just a mad dash into the store?? Well, where I live there are no tickets and no lines, when the air horn is blown everybody rushes and grabs what they want (this goes for the smaller items and toys). For some of the really expensive stuff you get a ticket (laptop,cpu,etc...),but you have to be in line by midnight.
momof5kiddos Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 It depends on the store. I think every store is different. and even the same walmart seems to do it a little different every yr. I think they try to improve on the system every year, even though some years I swear the tried to make it worse. ours has pallets scattered around in black plastic so you dont know what you are standing by, and the stuff isnt even in the right dept (toys arent in the toy dept always). and big thing s there has been a line the last several years, and some things you have to find the person holding tickets to hand out. Truly a scavenger hunt
mccabefamily29 Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 Ours isn't a Super Center and it opens at 6 am (not 5 like the rest ) anyhow they never give out tickets or anything. Just wait in line and run as fast as you can !
davephillyj Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 I think it is just to dangerous for the mad dash run as fast as you can. Thank goodness I am always at my moms in Pensacola. It's a super walmart and you get to go in and stand by what you want. You just can't put it in the buggy till 5:00. I went once on a mad dash at a store. I got knocked down and litterally steped on by three people before someone stoped the traffic! NEVER AGAIN for me.
laffnatu Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 We have a super Walmart so we can go in early and hang out by what we want. I couldn't imagine waiting outside for an airhorn to blow and then make a mad dash inside the store.

bayhaysay Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 It just depends on the walmart that you are going to. Is it a 24 hour wm? If so, do they close on Thanksgiving and then reopen? If you havce to wait outside then you need to be there early and by early I mean the night before.
theboyzmom Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 This is our first year with a Super Walmart, last year we got to our regular Walmart around 2:30 and were about the 100th in line...oh ya, it was about 2 degrees outside too I have NO idea whatsoever how it will work this year with the Super Walmart, and calling hasn't helped at all either
laffnatu Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 That was a Super Walmart!! But once the horn blows, it becomes a super sized sardine can. WOW!!! I'm glad ours doesn't do that.
raydees Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 I have a Wal-mart supercenter and it's always open can can shop for items that are non bf items. They have BF items roped off until 5am than you make a mad dash for the hot items.
tdespain Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 I work for a Supercenter in Missouri, and how the Supercenters do it, is between 4-5 a.m the pallets of BF merchandise are pulled out to the sales floor, wrapped in black plastic wrap, and placed in different areas. Like it was stated above, the items are not always placed in their departments. At 5 a.m the plastic is cut off, and customers are then allowed to purchase the BF merchandise at the BF price.
