Just found out yesterday that we will be in FL visiting the in-laws for Thanksgiving. The closest Walmart, Sears, BB,CC and Target are in Ocala and I'm not familiar with that area. Does anyone have any experience with Ocala stores on BF?

Thanks for any help!:):gdthankyou:

Funny. I was there visiting last thanksgiving and hit the Paddock Mall in Ocala and Walmart. I was there at the opening of the door because I thought it would be crazy like in Seattle. NOT! It's mostly retirees there and I think they need a little more time to get moving in the morning. Sales were really good. But be there before 10 because they all hit at once. Can't guarantee it will be the same this year, but most likely!

I was there until the 2nd week of January and I've never seen so many incredible sales in my life. After xmas was really really good, but the 2nd saturday of January was beyond anything I had ever seen. The higher end stores had 50-70% off their clearance prices and it was not just junk or ugly clothes left. They marked all of the nice clothes down right after the 1st by 30% and then had another 50% off on top of that the next week! I was buying $250-300 women suits for $70 and pants for $6! I had to buy an extra large suitcase just for my new clothes and shoes!

Happy shopping!

Im a tad south of Orlando which I think is about 40min south of Ocala. I do all the BF shopping in Orlando. I've been told by others though that if you want something really bad then go to Ocala or an area called "the Villages" I think the median age there is like 50! Just watch out for the old folk in those electric wheel chairs!

As far as weather goes I can't really remember what it was like EARLY last year, I just remeber that in the afternoon most people where wearing either sleeveless shirts, t-shirts or shorts. Year before that though was FREEZING!! I was about 37 weeks preggo standing outside of Target at 2am in flip flops because my feet had swelled so much that was all that fit and the cold spell happened so quick I didnt have time to get new sneakers yet. Year before that it was HOT HOT HOT!! and humid, I started out in a tank top, never needed a sweater that year. I normally wear comfy pants, tank top with zip up sweater that I can strip off when the sun comes up, I also start in sneakers to keep my feet from getting trampled then switch to comfy flip flops when the excitment dies down latter in the day.

I'm going to agree here. I used to live in Gainesville and The EBGames at the Paddock Mall was the only gaming outlet worth going to and that mall was empty all the time. Retired people used it to walk around and get exercise in, I "camped out" the first time I went there when a big game was getting released and I was the only person there at 6am. I continued to be the only person there up until the employees opened the gate at EBGames and just walked around the mall a bit afterwards then left.

You should have a breeze of a time come BF, congrats on having the luxury! ;)
