rimshot Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 Okay, I've battled the 5 am openings at our old Walmart but now we have a brand new Super Walmart (24/7). How do I know when to show up and where to go in the store for the big buys? I've yet to get a superbuy even showing up early
ckemp7 Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 i showed up last year at about 2 or 3 am, and was probably the fifth person there. i walked around the store and everything is throughout the store, kind of scattered. the cds dvds tvs were at the back. cabbage patch kids leap pads care bears were by the deli mushroom chairs were by the toys
brynnfromtheblock Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 Don't know if it's like this everywhere but we have both and on BF I prefer to go to a non superwalmart... there seems to be less people, and everyone isn't crowded around a pallet just waiting to tear each other apart....
Guest buddy72192 Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 Got to the regular wal-mart, there won't be as amny people trying to get in early.
peachysquirt21 Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 Well if you live where it is really cold you might wanna go to the super Walmart. I am thankful we have one cause we dont have to stand outside any longer.
starshine Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 You are all so lucky your Super WM stays open so you can be warm. Mine closes abuot 1 am so they can get ready. It's the only one I've ever heard of closing anyone else out there with a Super WM that shuts the doors about 1?
Trish1298 Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 I ususally get there an hour before the sale starts pick a pallet that I think has what I want and then stand and wait.

We got there last year prepared to stand out and freeze, and they had never closed. You might check this year before you go!
sleepyshopper Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 Our SWM hands out a map of where everything is stationed....so we just spilt up, everone stands in front of a pallet and waits.
elena_398 Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 It all depends on the Walmart and your area. I live around tons of diehard BF shoppers. I got at my 24/7 Walmart last year t midnight. I didn't need any of the main electronics on sale (laptop, dvd player, GBA) but thank god I didn't. At midnight, at least 15+ people were already in the electronics department sitting in lawn chairs. LOL
starshine Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 Until last year ours closed at 10. We got there last year prepared to stand out and freeze, and they had never closed. You might check this year before you go!OH I will but I'm usually there at 2am any way. Thanks
elena_398 Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 I have 3 Walmarts around me. 1 that closes and 2 that are 24/7. Come to find out, one of the 24/7 Walmarts closed and didn't reopen till 6am. Mad rush there. Thank god I opted to go to the other one. Not sure why they closed. The walmart I went to said it was a manager decision as 24/7 Walmarts usuallys stay open
rimshot Posted October 29, 2006 Author Posted October 29, 2006 Thanks for the info! No more regular Walmarts around here anymore. We are lucky to have one lol They never gave maps or told anyone in the regular Walmart where stuff was at, or else gave up after the first couple of shoppers. By the time I found stuff it was gone. Hope I can figure what is under the tarps, is there a trick?
Cheryll Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Will put a bug in the manager ear about circulating maps-and another great idea to have lawn chairs for the die-hards. thanks guys!:)
musicboi10 Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 How do these pallets work? This is my 1st year shopping at Wal-Mart for BF, so I have no clue how the system works.
