misshayley Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Does anyone know where I can get a good deal on a VHS/DVD Recorder. My DH has been asking for one for awhile and I am trying to find a good deal on one.
Marcster Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 I bought our DVD recorder last BF last year at OfficeMax. It was $69.99 after a $30 MIR. It's a Lite-On. Although it's a great player, I can't find a universal remote that it will work with. Stick with national brands if you have a universal remote. As for a VHS/DVD recorder combo, you can use a DVD recorder to recorder your current VHS videos (using your existing VCR) and then you'll no longer need a VCR...

I transferred all my VHS tapes to DVD using a separate VHS player. We are now VHS-free home. Everything is recorded and watched on DVD.This is probably the least expensive way to go assuming you currently have a VHS player.
misshayley Posted October 25, 2006 Author Posted October 25, 2006 We are looking at around $100 or less
Gurnee Al Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 I don't think you'll find a combo unit that is both a VHS and DVD recorder for under $100. There are several DVD recorders for under $100, though. Here's one from Best Buy.
Marcster Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Finally found one!!! Refurbished, but it's the only one I've found for under $100. RCA RBDRC-8310 REFURB DVD/VCR Recorder Combo -- $79.00 http://shop1.outpost.com/product/5017735
