We don't have a Christmas Day breakfast tradition, but on Christmas Eve we all go to Shoney's. Used to be the Pancake House, forget why we changed it, but it's been Shoney's for a real long time. My wife generally has to work a half shift on Christmas, so it's hard to make plans for that day.

Our big family meal IS Christmas breakfast, so it's an all-out feast at our house! :yup:

Around 4:30 or 5:00, my parents and I start the preparations (I spend the night at my parents' on Christmas Eve), in order to have it on the table for everyone by 7:00. Usually, my 2 married siblings bring a sweet dish and/or fruit. My parents and I prepare eggs, bacon, sausage, country ham, biscuits, sausage gravy, country ham ("red eye") gravy, hashbrown casserole, plus add the leaves to and set the table. Oh, and sometime in between all that, we change out of our PJs and do hair, makeup, etc. Whew!

So... we don't feel TOO guilty about letting my siblings do the dishes! ;) Then after we open presents and the everyone else leaves for other gatherings, the three of us each find a comfy chair or couch and have nice, long naps!:gdsleep3:

Monkey Bread Recipe anyone:confused:

Here is the recipe I use, it's from pilsbury

1/2 cup sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

2 cans (16.3 oz each) Pillsbury® Grands!® Homestyle refrigerated buttermilk biscuits

1/2 cup chopped walnuts, if desired

1/2 cup raisins, if desired

1 cup firmly packed brown sugar

3/4 cup butter or margarine, melted

1 . Heat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease 12-cup fluted tube pan.

2 . In large plastic food-storage bag, mix sugar and cinnamon. Separate dough into 16 biscuits; cut each into quarters. Shake in bag to coat. Arrange in pan, adding walnuts and raisins among the biscuit pieces.

3 . Mix brown sugar and butter; pour over biscuit pieces.

4 . Bake 28 to 32 minutes or until golden brown and no longer doughy in center. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Turn upside down onto serving plate; pull apart to serve. Serve warm.
