This year we finally have Kohls in our area and I was wondering if they have better doorbusters than Walmart. I've seen people up north talk very highly of them but I just don't know if it is a trip I am willing to take. What do you think?

Kohls definitley knows how to run a good sale, but i think they try to be more hi end so I can't see them doing door busters, but I can see really good sales at like 9 am......

Kohls has really good dorrbusters..but you wont find good dvds, tvs, and other electronics like you would Walmart or Best Buy...but each store is different...i like kohl's alot..but i go to the others first before there..or have some one else pickl a few items up whiile there ...so just look at the ads and decide which store has more sales on things you want and go to that one that has the most sales per store...

Sorta depends. Usually the stores with the best doorbusters will be the ones with stuff you're lookin' for this year.

I'd say last year the best doorbusters, in my opinion was Wal-Mart. They were in the running with all the other major electronics chains (BB, CC, CompUSA) for the better and cheapest laptops, desktops, HDTVs, videogames, DVDs, and just about everythin' else people were really interested in. I'd say overall they had the better deals and the most of each item.

i agree with that...Walmart overall had the items and the price on everything overall that people wanted

I like WalMart because they are well stocked (not enough carts though) and they usually don't cut the doorbuster price off for hours past the time it's supposed to end.

K-Mart used to have GREAT deals!!! They would give away cookie tins, ornaments and one year gift cards....every card was a winner.....anywhere from $1.00-$100.00 for the first 250....I got a $1.00 but hubby got $25.00!!! This was 3 -4 yrs ago??

however they have closed almost ALL of the K-Marts here...so oh well!!!

I really really like Kohl's for doorbusters. I really like their merchandise. You couldn't PAY me enough money to get near a Best Buy or a Walmart on BF. I am way too scared for that kind of shopping!!!!

thats the fun of black friday... the adrenaline rush. Hell sometimes I like to go out even when I have no intentions of buying anything just to be a part of the scene, it gets me in the christmas mood LOL

Yeah, I go out every BF, but I go to Carson Pirie Scott and Macy's (was LS Ayres). I like their merchandise and that is what everyone on my list wants. There are one hour lines, but no one is pushing and I never really want the "hot" items anyway. I shop there all morning and then do Kohl's later.

I got for the high end electronics, so Best biy and Circuit City have always floated my boat

We don;t have Fry's or Comp USA around here

Kohls has a tendency to mark things up, particularly toys, then take off the same percentage as other stores. So in the end you don't make out as well.

I really wish stores would go back to giving freebies on BF. I remember getting the Elmo cookie tin at Kmart and a 101 Dalmations gift bag another year. Wrapping paper one year at TRU too. I think Big Lots still does a giveaway on Thanksgiving and BF, which is nice.
