tinkrbel Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Now that I've bought the iPad and don't really foresee any bigger discounts, can I take it into the Apple store to get stuff transferred over? Do they charge for that? Can I do it? I'm kinda techie just not with Apple. Is it straight forward, similar to phone transfer stuff or am I better off taking it to the professionals in case I screw something up? I know it has some account/profile associated with it that I can access from the settings.
packratfamily Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Our experience with Apple is that they are very happy to do or explain stuff. You can make a Genius bar appt and they are free. (sometimes I do stuff myself but sometimes they do it easier) There are free Apple manuals in the book app. (Some are not free) 1
HanShotFirst Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 It’s pretty easy but I went to the Apple Store my first time too. They were very helpful. The account will be your Apple ID. If you have set that up be sure and have that info with you. If you haven’t they will help you. If you set it up there with them be sure to make a note of the info. I can’t say whether they charge for it because it’s been years since I went in. 1
Kanyon71 Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 Most of the time now you set them side by side. You will take a picture of a special screen on the new one from the old one and then it will transfer everything over. Apple has made it very simple nowadays. 2
