brynnfromtheblock Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Our power goes out quite frequently here and today it went out 3 times for a couple of minutes each.... The last time it did I couldn't get the computer to come back on. I turned everything off, nothing. The monitor was on but said it was receiving no info. I had a moment of panic thinking my computer can't die now, BF is coming!!! Luckily took all the plugs out of the wall and let it sit a while and it came back up. Last year our cable went out a week before BF and didn't come back up for a while after, I had to go to my mom's to get my Gotta Deal fix!! So now I'm sitting here making copies of all the digital pictures that I haven't backed up in the last couple of months...
Booterbunz Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Oh wow, thankfully it came back on for ya! It would traumatize me if I lost any of my daughters' pics!!!
elena_398 Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 I've had that happen to me, but the pics didn't come back. I was so upset. Thankfully it ended well with you
Scott Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Laptop + portable generator = :)Personally, I use a UPS, but to each his own.
RossMAN Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Personally, I use a UPS, but to each his own. Another good solution and considerably cheaper.
jeninpa Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Personally, I use a UPS, but to each his own. What is a UPS?
2Rmom Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 What is a UPS? Uninterruptible Power Supply It is a battery backup for your computer.
tyler99199 Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Whew all I could think of is the little brown truck
