I'm just wondering if it might be cheaper on/or around Black Friday. Any thoughts? They might go a few dollars cheaper on Black Friday. Or you could find some stores giving extras with a purchase.
brushstrokes Posted November 1 Posted November 1 We are getting so close!! Do we know what the hot items this year are? On 10/6/2024 at 10:39 AM, okannie said: As all my kids grew up and now my granddaughter is grown, the list of gifts is smaller. We started looking at having experiences more than gifts. Over the summer the family took a 2 week trip to France so that was our luxury splurge but it was so worth it. Christmas will be celebrated with family dinner and a smaller amount of gifts. I loooove experience gifts! The memories from the experience will last a lifetime!
JerSeattle Posted November 3 Posted November 3 I appreciate having a forum to help people get both good products and good deals. 3

Plus looks like holiday returns are in place already through 1/31 so may be worth getting now. Not sure if this is the one you were looking at: https://www.amazon.com/Amazon_Fire_HD_10/dp/B0BL5PYD69/ref=asc_df_B0BL5PYD69/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=693441205606&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=1472391197511188940&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9011937&hvtargid=pla-2244890107187&psc=1&mcid=2184047fc01f3405a104db1a3d5c5f05 2
cllehto Posted November 7 Posted November 7 I didn't notice poinsettias for $.99 or $1.99 on the Home Depot ad. I always go there to pick up a few to brighten the house....until I kill them (I have a hard time keeping them alive until Christmas). 1

I bought myself one earlier this year and I’ve used it way more than I ever thought I would so I figured everyone else would find it useful too. 2

Has Lowe's ad come out and missed too or is it still pending? Home Depot has for $4 or 3for $12 depending on rack I was in Home Depot 3 times today. No more 1

I have them all make Amazon Wish lists and that helps but its hard when they are older. Even if you have it sent...if you don't live close, they open it before Christmas and its great but not what it used to be. 1

You really would like your kids to have presents to open on Christmas day but you have to ship early to get them to arrive before Christmas so they get opened before that. You wonder if they have any presents on Christmas day or even a tree. Sometimes you know they are working on Christmas day and helping to make others happier for Christmas. It's different when they grow up 1

We covered our first Black Friday here on GottaDEAL two decades ago, so we've got two prizes this year instead of one! Here's how it works: Through Monday, December 9, 2024 at 11:59:59pm EST, you'll earn one entry into the contest every time you post in one of the Black Friday and holiday shopping-related forums including this main Black Friday Discussion forum and the Sale & Ad Discussion sub-forum. As usual we're not going to require your posts to be a certain length to qualify or anything like that - we just want a lot of great discussion. We know there are times when a one-word reply is fine. All posts in nearly all threads in these forums will count, including other contest threads. However, posts in the GD Prize Club threads will not count. So create interesting threads, reply to other members' questions, give your opinions on everything that is being discussed. This is a discussion board - let's have some interesting discussion here! On Tuesday, December 10, 2024 we will randomly select two lucky winners from all eligible entries and you will each win a brand new Apple iPad 9th Generation Tablet. Prize must be claimed by replying to the winner notification PM here on the forum by January 31, 2025 or prize will be forfeited. And as a benefit to those who were here early this year, all the posts in the forums up until now (again, aside from the prize club thread) will also count towards this contest. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me and I'll be happy to answer them. Wow! That’s great. Awesome!
bribri25 Posted November 20 Posted November 20 ....ish. Black Friday mostly already started, and starts more in 3 days, and then more 2 days after that. It's mostly over by the time next Friday hits 1

We have given both my mom (73) and MIL (76) Aura frames. They love them. My MIL especially loves seeing new pictures show up. And they have sales regularly. They are also available at Kohls and Amazon. 2

Or something useful they don't know would make life better/easier yet: heated blanket, walmart or whoever delivery subscription or even a meal subscription. 1

These ideas have been well-received with the older family members. We found that frozen meals have been a great help. I've been thanked at various points in the year when family was able to pull out a frozen meal on an especially difficult day. 1
