thetman
thats a good deal, plenty of OC capabilities if you are into that, or the BF $125 Radeon 9600XT AIW card is a super deal, it was around $250 6 months ago
stingygrrl
there's also 3 lower end cards at compusa. one's a 5700LE for abnout $80, another's a FX5500 for $50 and I forfget the 3d. But no one mentions them! if you look at the ad scans, you'll see them.
Morphx2
Get the 6800, softmod it to unlock the 4 extra pipes, so it has 16, then you can overclock it too. Pow pow! That is my plan at least O:-)
mdjobadze
softmod it? pipes? huh? wah?
anthrex
basically if ur lucky enough you might have a high end video card that has been crippled by removing pixel pipelines(not reallly important what they do, but that more is better) and with a simple driver update(probably omega drivers or something else) you might be able to have a high end card without paying as much
Morphx2
Yeah, the vanilla 6800 thats on sale only has 12 pipes open. There is a way to softmod it (change it) to open ALL the pipes. Makes it a LOT faster for a fraction of the price of the more expensive models. If you buy it, PM me and I can help ya
rimps86
Mad Dog FX5200 Video Card - $29.99 AR at CompUSA Does anyone know if this card is any good? RossMAN
Which of these video cards have DVI (for those of us with flat panel LCD's)?
rimps86
The Mad Dog one I posted earlier has DVI Link I hope that link works, if not you can just go to the product from this website listing under CompUSA I still don't know much about video cards so I don't know if this is a good card or not. Storm
Its going to be hard to get into CompUSA for that 6800... Anyone doing rebuy for that?
Morphx2
Nah, im doing it hardcore. Be there midnight/1am I want the card, the ram, the case
mdjobadze
well, if you want a card that will LAST a LONG time and it will be worth every penny, then go with any of the Geforce 6800 series. (regular 6800, XT, and Ultra)... the 5200 is not worth it at all unless its a temporary card. i am buying my brother geforce 5900 xt for only 80 bucks since i dont have the money... how many pipes (if any) does the 5900 have? can i do anything to make it better? (although i do not want to get serious into modding the card, but if its software than thats fine)....
Morphx2
The only thing you can do better with it is to overclock it
