tyler99199
My wife and I are interested in a memory foam topper. Thinking 3-4" not sure on that yet. But I see there is some that are Serta and some no name at Overstock.com. Some reviews complain about tears and discoloration. I am hoping to make a decision and place my order tonight but would like anybodys insight. Overstock has some great prices but I worry of the old saying you get what you pay for. Any recomendations. 3 or 4"? Go with the name brand Serta? Also some say materials : memory foam some say just foam. Is there a difference between the two? Some have a warranty some dont. Here is some links to the ones I am considering: http://www.overstock.com/?page=proframe&prod_id=1657609http://www.overstock.com/?page=proframe&prod_id=1862343http://www.overstock.com/?page=proframe&prod_id=1528629http://www.overstock.com/?page=proframe&prod_id=1862669 Anybody own any of these or know of a past experience with one. Somebody anybody help so I can get a good nights sleep. Thank you all
Keebelf
if the sheets are going to be over the mem. foam, what does discoloration have to do with it? (honestly wondering since I don't have one.)
tyler99199
The only reason I mentioned that is in the picture it appears white, so if comes grey or another color I worry it is a cheap knock off and not necessarily a Serta. If it is comfortable I will keep it if it is green. Just worry about the quality.
kranky
Go to fatwallet.com forums and in the Deal Discussion area, read the (very long) thread called "Emattress.com Memory foam mattress similar to Tempur-Pedic for a lot less". Not that I'm recommending emattress.com, but there's a lot of good links in that thread. We got a 4 Lb. 3" topper about two years ago from memoryfoam.com. (good info on that site for research) First thing I noticed is that the thing is heavy! So if the vendor isn't offering free shipping, don't forget to factor it in. The ones at overstock were cheaper, but after doing a lot of research it seemed to be one of those "you get what you pay for" deals. An extra few dollars seemed to be a good investment, especially for something you sleep on. I can sleep on anything but my wife was having trouble. Our mattress is a quality pillowtop (looking back, the pillowtop was not a good choice) and is only five years old, so I didn't want to replace it. After doing a lot of reading we decided to get a 4 Lb, 3" topper made from Sensus foam. I wasn't having any trouble sleeping as it was, so I can't say I notice anything different. My wife does say it has helped her. If there's a problem, it's that when using a topper your sheets won't fit any more. Doesn't bother me, but my wife finds it an annoyance.
