Amazon.com is listing two different 4/4 (full sized) violins for $49.95, originally $199.99 and $179.99 each. Seems like a great price for a beginning instrument. Not sure how much shipping is.

My dd was just asking tonight if she could start taking lessons and I told her no because we can't afford the out of pocket on a new violin right now.

 

I guess she is going to be a happy camper!

According to the description these are full sized. I didn't click to see if other sizes are available. You may want to have your daughter evaluated to see which size would fit her best. Also, check into renting them if she's serious. We rent one for our youngest and will until she is ready for a full sized.
