Kanyon71 Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 I know it's not quit decorating time yet BUT for those who do crazy decorations that sometimes can start as early as August or September. I built a light show controller but it's in storage still so I can't yet go all out at our house. If you're into it what does your yard/house usually look like? 1
ytmomof4 Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 Yes I love decorating for Christmas. I seem to go bigger every year. I try and pick up every thing I can after Christmas for the following year. I will try and find my pictures from last year
ytmomof4 Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 Found a picture. Not the best. I’m pretty sure I added more after this was taken but can’t find a picture 6
Kanyon71 Posted October 4, 2022 Author Posted October 4, 2022 Very nice. We have been looking to buy 2-5 acres to build on. My wife knows that we will end up with a HUGE Christmas display if/when this happens. 1
ytmomof4 Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 Omg I would love that. I would love to have enough land for a small tree farm and shop plus have a nice display. I guess one can dream
Kanyon71 Posted October 5, 2022 Author Posted October 5, 2022 Indeed. I want to do a nice walkthrough display. We almost bought a house on 20 acres 5-6 years ago but it just didn’t work out. I was bummed.
stewarta4 Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 We don't do "crazy" decorating but last year we did get permanent Christmas lights installed on our house and love them! Endless ways you can customize their colors/motions. Best of all, no more climbing on a ladder! 5

We used to keep a tree up year round and change the decoration on it to fit the holiday/season. 1
kboyts Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 I set up a computer controlled light and music show for years. Stopped a few years sgo. It was just getting to be too stressful setting it up an getting everything running properly. Just lost the enjoyment from it, still love seeing other displays though! 3

Bopeep Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 There's a huge, beautiful red brick house between me and the next town over. The original owners always went all out with Christmas decor. About 10 years ago they sold it to a doctor and they never do anything. Every year, I want to go knock on their door. LOL. Like, if you could afford this house and all this land around it, you could afford to hire someone to decorate. You owe it to us! (LOL, I realize they owe me nothing. I just think it should be a crime to have that beautiful house and that beautiful manicured lawn and do NOTHING at Christmas ). 2

speeddiva Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 We don’t do much outside after a few thefts but DH goes all out inside. We have 14 indoor trees and everything that doesn’t move usually gets decorated [emoji23] 1
Kanyon71 Posted November 4, 2022 Author Posted November 4, 2022 I’m going to start building my new lighting system but it won’t be ready for this years Christmas season. Will probably wait until the lights I’m going to use to go on presale in January or February once I have everything I can then start working on the sequence shows for the lights and music.
