Yes this is backwards compatible with USB 1.1

It's also Windows plug & play which is nice because it requires no drivers or software. Just plug it into the USB port and Windows instantly recognizes it as a removeable media source.

Also works with Windows 98 SE and Macintosh OS 8.6+

I ordered mine before Dell runs out of inventory :)

Persistence pays off!

Dany - how do you plan on using this?

I already have a Kingston 512MB loaded with Ad-ware, Spybot, AVG, FireFox installer, and other must have apps. Plus a few MP3's, bookmarks, etc.

Opps missed this thread somehow.

I'm going to use it for when I go to customers office to work on QuickBooks or Computer Problems. Thought it would be good for drivers, spyware programs, etc. And given that its 1gb is just perfect for those customers that have not compressed the data in their QuickBooks file for several years :)

Appears that it is backordered :(

got an email today saying they wouldn't ship until 1/1/2004. I think I'm just going to cancel my order. I don't even know if the rebate will still be valid.

Call them again, they changed the ship date after I bitched enough. And it came bent :( so I will have to RMA it after all that.
