So Pam's avatar is now the smiley emoticon, and instead of a green light for online status, we have the smiley.

well, basically what I'm seeing is that when somebody types the smily emoticon, (a colon and right parenthesis) it gets replaced with Gator Pam's avatar.

 

The little green dot which represents somebody being logged in is now a happy face for me.

so...I cleared the cache on my browser and everything is better.
