missyj94
I have a 7 year old boy and am looking for his first hand held gaming system, mainly hoping to get him away from wanting my phone when he does get any game/screen time. What are your thoughts on comparing the Nintendo Switch vs the Nintendo Switch Lite? What are the best deals I can hope to find? Thanks in advance!!

Thanks in advance!! for a 7-year old i would say the Switch Lite, its more like a handheld gaming system than one that has to be connected to a TV, the joycons are attached and don't get removed so having to replace them. and sorry but you will not see any deals on either , the Lite is too new and Nintendo just doesnt allow their stuff to have a sale price, you might find one being offered in a bundle with other stuff ie a carrying case but that is about all your going to see
jaymacfla
Have you considered a tablet or a cheap phone for his first handheld system?
jendeere
I’d go with the Switch. It can be used on the tv or as a handheld. I don’t personally see the benefit of the switch lite when the regular switch can do both. Another option would be the Nintendo 3ds or 2ds which are strictly handheld devices.

jesusluvu
I would say the regular switch this way they can grow into all of the aspects of the game.
missyj94
Have you considered a tablet or a cheap phone for his first handheld system? He has an older ipad, but the games he wants to play don't work when we get out of wifi. I don't have hotspot on my phone:( We had considered an Amazon Fire or something similar though, thank you!!I’d go with the Switch. It can be used on the tv or as a handheld.
