tullysdad Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 My local Sam's club has a floor model 56inch JVC rear projection HDTV for $750. Model # is JVC AV56P575. Picture looked fine, but we couldn't get the sound to work for some reason, probably just a setting problem. Assuming the sound problem could be resolved, should I buy it or pass on it? The manager thought it was on the floor around 3 months. BTW, it's a standard rear projection, not a DLP.
tullysdad Posted May 26, 2006 Author Posted May 26, 2006 Also thought I'd add that this model does not have the built in HDTV tuner.
AndreaInNC Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 The HD tuner can sometimes just be a set of rabbit ears if you plan on picking up your local channels in HDTV. My TV is HDTV ready and a pair of rabbit ears is what I had to get to pick up HDTV. If you plan on using the cable companies HD box, you might be okay.
