Keebelf
I need the cheapest price for 2 adult airline tickets leaving JAX (Jacksonville, FL INternational) on 5/18/2006 and going to SJC (San Jose, CA) until 5/26/2006.
Ripn
Using SideStep...I see 2 diff AirTran flights via SFO as an alternative to SJC with a stopover in Atlanta. Delta (does fly to SJC) is next cheapest @ $379.19, AA (goes to SFO) is $402.20.Roundtrip flight 315.20/person Outbound Flight : on 5/18 from Jacksonville Intl Apt AirTran Airways Flight 938 Departure: 3:25PJacksonville Intl Apt (JAX) Arrival: 4:36PAtlanta Hartsfield Jackson Intl Apt (ATL) Duration: 1hr 11mn Distance: 270mi Aircraft: Boeing 717 (Jet) Meal: N/A Connection: 1hr 23mnAtlanta Hartsfield Jackson Intl Apt (ATL) AirTran Airways Flight 57 Departure: 5:59PAtlanta Hartsfield Jackson Intl Apt (ATL) Arrival: 8:19PSan Francisco Intl Apt (SFO) Duration: 5hr 20mn Distance: 2139mi Aircraft: Boeing 737-700 (Jet) Meal: N/A Total duration: 7hr 54mn Total distance: 2409.0 mi Return Flight : on 5/26 from San Francisco Intl Apt AirTran Airways Flight 52 Departure: 9:45PSan Francisco Intl Apt (SFO) Arrival: 5:20AAtlanta Hartsfield Jackson Intl Apt (ATL) Duration: 4hr 35mn Distance: 2139mi Aircraft: Boeing 737-700 (Jet) Meal: N/A Connection: 2hr 50mnAtlanta Hartsfield Jackson Intl Apt (ATL) AirTran Airways Flight 930 Departure: 8:10AAtlanta Hartsfield Jackson Intl Apt (ATL) Arrival: 9:15AJacksonville Intl Apt (JAX) Duration: 1hr 05mn Distance: 270mi Aircraft: Boeing 717 (Jet) Meal: N/A Total duration: 8hr 30mn Total distance: 2409.0 mi _________________________________________________________________Roundtrip flight 315.20/person Outbound Flight : on 5/18 from Jacksonville Intl Apt AirTran Airways Flight 20 Departure: 6:15AJacksonville Intl Apt (JAX) Arrival: 7:26AAtlanta Hartsfield Jackson Intl Apt (ATL) Duration: 1hr 11mn Distance: 270mi Aircraft: Boeing 717 (Jet) Meal: N/A Connection: 1hr 54mnAtlanta Hartsfield Jackson Intl Apt (ATL) AirTran Airways Flight 45 Departure: 9:20AAtlanta Hartsfield Jackson Intl Apt (ATL) Arrival: 11:45ASan Francisco Intl Apt (SFO) Duration: 5hr 25mn Distance: 2139mi Aircraft: Boeing 737-700 (Jet) Meal: N/A Total duration: 8hr 30mn Total distance: 2409.0 mi Return Flight : on 5/26 from San Francisco Intl Apt AirTran Airways Flight 52 Departure: 9:45PSan Francisco Intl Apt (SFO) Arrival: 5:20AAtlanta Hartsfield Jackson Intl Apt (ATL) Duration: 4hr 35mn Distance: 2139mi Aircraft: Boeing 737-700 (Jet) Meal: N/A Connection: 2hr 50mnAtlanta Hartsfield Jackson Intl Apt (ATL) AirTran Airways Flight 930 Departure: 8:10AAtlanta Hartsfield Jackson Intl Apt (ATL) Arrival: 9:15AJacksonville Intl Apt (JAX) Duration: 1hr 05mn Distance: 270mi Aircraft: Boeing 717 (Jet) Meal: N/A Total duration: 8hr 30mn Total distance: 2409.0 mi

Keebelf
I think. These actually aren't for me. A friend of Chris' called him up and asked if I still looked up stuff on the computer as I have found tickets for others before.
tullysdad
PRICELINE. As long as you can be a little flexible with your departure times and willing to do a connecting flight, you can save about 1/2 of the price. I've used it 3 times and each time saved big bucks. Keebelf
I am very leery of Priceline with this because, don't you have to agree to buy the tickets if they are found for the price you want BEFORE you know if they are found? I will mention to the guy when I tell him my results though.

I will mention to the guy when I tell him my results though.I think you can go one of two ways (IIRC) with Priceline. You can try to bid for the best price and you do need to give all your CC# info and you are bound to purchase IF they agree to your price that you offered. I also think they have the same procedure as well as Expedia, Travelocity, etc., that you can also see the price before buying. You can also check Hotwire.com and Travelworm.com for deals. Hotwire shows you the lowest price, you just have to agree to purchase it regardless of times, connections, etc. I scored a great fare to Miami from Hotwire several months ago. Good luck! sanam
once you have bid at priceline, when do they tell you whether yr price has been accepted or not ?
SueInCali
once you have bid at priceline, when do they tell you whether yr price has been accepted or not ?Usually right away. You get a "congrats, your offer has been accepted". Or, "sorry, we could not find that price for you". If that is the case (IIRC), they give you the chance to up your bid if you want to. tullysdad
Priceline also has a new feature if they reject your bid, that they will counteroffer you with a price of their own. The counteroffer prices are very low as well.

sanam
any tips on how to bid for hotels on priceline ..
tullysdad
Haven't tried a hotel bid on Priceline. When I've done the airfare option I always start out with a ridiculously low bid, about 1/2 of what I think it would really cost. I would do the same thing for the hotel. The 3 or so times I've bought airfare through them I figure I saved at least $100 each time.

fairydustcrissy
I have found (for flights leaving ATL anyways) that Delta's website has ALWAYS had the cheapest tix for us. Always been cheapest, as well as no connections. Can't beat a nonstop for less than other airlines charge for connecting!
