purplefenix Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 Has anyone else found it increasingly difficult to shop at Amazon, due to the flood of cheap/discounted imported things? Many of them seem to get prominent placement, yet once you look at them and the reviews it's SO hard to figure out if something is good, or if it's just rubbish. Their new policy on reviews in exchange for free products has helped some, but not a lot.
tracy0504 Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 Yes...My 16 y/o son asked for Duracell batteries as part of his Christmas gift ( Xbox 1 controller), they are selling a pack of 100 for less than $35...downside, form the reviews they are coming from China and the are thrown together in a box not in original packaging, just a bunch of single batteries thrown in box and shipped out...so you don't know if they are any good until you get them...Groupon had the same deal and after I read the reviews on Amazon I decided not to purchase form either site...
cllehto Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 Yes! It's hard to find anything good any more. If you sort price low to high, it takes pages to get to anything that might be good.
bribri25 Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 Always is hard to sift through the deals. But once in a while you find a gem.
riven3d Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 I still hate the new way the lighting deals are displayed, i liked the old way so much better 6

Make sure you don't have notifications turned off in the app on your phone. You can configure it to suppress those. I've been getting mine just fine all day.

Tigger97498 Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 That's the opposite of me....I keep getting notifications of things I don't want.Am I the only one having things mysteriously added to my list of items im watching that I never added?
m13april Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 Yes...My 16 y/o son asked for Duracell batteries as part of his Christmas gift ( Xbox 1 controller) -snip...You should consider rechargeable batteries. That is what we have switched to, especially with all our kids' toys. It is an up front cost, but if you were already considering spending 35$, this likely isn't an issue. 1
purplefenix Posted November 22, 2016 Author Posted November 22, 2016 I'm trying to find a Steelers bumble bee jersey...the number of counterfeit items on Amazon is amazing. I'm surprised the NFL hasn't cracked down on them.
simplchaos Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 The third party items are horrific! We got had when we bought an iphone. It was NOT an iphone. And there's been other instances. I'm also disappointed with the sales they have now. Amazon used to have way better deals than the b&m stores but now it's just kind of the same. Last year they had the fire stick for $15. Today they are offering an OLD model REFURBISHED for $25. Shame!
sdn40 Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 (edited) Not to mention the shipping games they are playing. I'm convinced they hold back on shipping in order to try to make Prime more appealing. Sometimes they even hold just one item.I plan accordingly and take advantage of the lower prices and the reviews (be careful of those as well, make sure they aren't fake). They are still the best place to shop, and they know it, but they aren't what they used to be Edited November 23, 2016 by sdn40 1
