chpr10j
So I'm in the market for both a new laptop and 60" or bigger TV (up in the air on 4k or not). My question is, am I better off pulling of the purchase during Black Friday or will I possibly see better deals on cyber monday? Anyone with past experience? len_mullen
I would make a list of any laptops/televisions from the ads, read reviews, research current and recent prices, see the devices in person (if possible) and create a short list of items and the 'right price'. Then I would buy the first items which were close to your target price ASAP. You can always return unopened items if you get a better deal.
wittenlover
If you don't actually *need* the TV now, you might be better off waiting until after CES in January. Kind of like grabbing the outgoing model year on a car as the new model year hits the dealers. That said, there appear to be some great deals out there right now (I know, I'm looking too) and, with the short time between BF and Cyber Monday, Len's right. You can always return an unopened BF item if you see a better deal on CM.
Ravenseye
I seem to remember that the week before/of the super bowl always has better television deals than black friday. Am i mis-remembering this?
len_mullen
TVs are ALWAYS on sale, but, yes, I bought my 60" plasma the Friday before a Superbowl. Felt like Malcolm Butler bringing that one home.
wittenlover
That would be right around the "post-CES" sweet spot, so I think you're right on, Ravenseye. Besides, who doesn't want a huge new TV for "the Big Game" (since they have to pay to use the term Super Bowl)? Perfect time to put them on sale as a retailer. jaymacfla
You have reminded me of the projection TV sales right before the game and then the subsequent returns shortly after. hokie7373
best tv deals are the week before the Super Bowl not black Friday. If you can wait on the tv you should.
