This week's is Hershey's Pot of Gold or another Valentine's Day Heart box of candy for $5.99. They run from Wednesday to Tuesday. Has anyone seen heard of these deals? I know Albertson's may not be everywhere...

Are they on the website and a corporate thing or are they a local managers special? I have an Albertson, but I don't always get over by it and I'd like to know what the specials are before I head that way. Thanks

Albertson's owns our Acme supermarkets. They do run these Xtreme deals periodically. Normally there are only a couple of items that you get the extreme deal on. They are also listed in the store circular. Also, our Acme stores also run the 10 for 10 sales. You can buy 1 item or up to 10 items (and still only pay a $1). This is great when you have a .50 coupon and then they double it. I have gotten many items for nothing during these 10 for 10 sales.

Xtreme Deals can be free!

If the cashier doesn't offer the Xtreme Deal item to you while checking out, you get it free. I got the big heart-shaped box of Russell Stover candies for free this weekend!

Happy Valentine's day to me.

Really???? I never ever knew that and I shop at Alberton's all the time. I always see the Xtreme Deals at the checkout but no cashier has ever offered it to me - next time they don't I'll ask if it's free, LOL!!!

Also, I noticed a sign about prices - if a price scans wrong your suppose to get the item free - I always point out wrong prices but they NEVERE EVER give me the item free - they just adjust the price.

I can confirm this is TRUE. We've had 3 or 4 cashiers who did not tell us about the Xtreme Deal of the week. So after we sign the credit card receipt (our CitiBank pays 5% on gas/groceries) we wait for them to tell us about the Xtreme Deal of the week. They usually forget then we mention it and they reluctantly give us one for free!

You should insist they give it to you for free because that is their policy. If you have more than one of the same item that rang up wrong the first one should be free and the others should be price adjusted. Stand up for yourself! I use to not do that but I've grown a little (In more ways than one unfortunately but that's a whole other thread).

Oh, don't worry I will from now on. :D
