newgirl Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Hi all ~ I live in Seattle but I am in Dallas for a long weekend and wonder if anyone has insider tips on where to shop, eat or have fun. Any ideas/ personal picks for the must see and do while in the are is greatly appreciated! Thanks everyone! ~Rebecca
malachitecat Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Dallas Alley is a fun place on the weekends. They have several bars in one area, one being a karaoke bar, one a piano bar (funny pianists), country bar, can't remember what else. There's a 106 acre flea market in Grand Prairie called Trader's Village which was kinda cool. And of course in Arlington they have Six Flags. Oh, and in the northern area somewhere, they have a Godiva store (if you go there, have a honey roasted almond truffle for me). If I think of anything else I'll let ya know.
newgirl Posted February 10, 2006 Author Posted February 10, 2006 Yeah! Thank you! This is perfect. If you think of anything else let me know but this is great, I really appreciate it! Thanks again!
indallas Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 The Galleria is a nice place to shop and look around for sure - corner of Dallas Tollway and 635.
natasha Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 If you are looking for bargains, I like Allen Premium Outlets (Allen,TX 20 min) and Grapevine Mill(Grapevine Mills,TX 45 min). I live in AR, but I go to the Dallas area a minimium of 3-4 times a year.
happyrat Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Grapevine Mills is maybe 30 minutes at the most from Dallas depending on where in Dallas you are. If you like Barbeque, Sonny Bryan's is good. Mexican Food, I like El Fenix. I would get a Dallas Morning News, or Fort Worth Star Telegram Friday edition. They both have sections listing all the restaurants, and shows happing on the weekend. I would defenitly go to Traders Village in Arlington near 360, and Pioneer parkway. It has lots of bargains (and knockoffs of major brands cough cough). Just be carefull what you buy, as I've seen syrup made 2 years ago for sale.
gottashop Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 if you like jewerly, purses or accessories.... Sam Moon is a MUST stop
