Not bad at all! $25 qualifies for super saver shipping.

I personally have used this brand several time and not had any problems.

Have you ever checked the burned DVD with the Nero CD/DVD Speed program?

You will see many, many, many errors.<---Can you tell I don't like Memorsux dvd's? ;) I was amazed when I ran a check on some of my dvd's.

Memorex dvd's are well known to be inferior blanks. They may wind up being "truly blank" in a few months/years.

Don't get me wrong, cheap is great! But if the end result is loss of data...have you really saved anything?

In your opinion, what is the best brand for the price?

taiyo yuden are great blanks ...as long as you get "real" and not fake taiyo yudens... meritline.com is known to sell the real taiyo discs.

Some Sony blanks are manufactured by Taiyo Yuden as well.

A trick is to look on the package label for "Made In Japan" and do NOT buy if you see "Made In Taiwan"

I was @ Walmart today...they sell Sony 8X DVD+R's in a 25 pack=Made in Taiwan. Sony DVD+R's in a 50 pack=Made in Japan.

The labels looked the same except for the country.

Ridata & Verbatim are great discs too.

Just a tip...burn at 4X even if you have a faster burner. Speed kills quality when it comes to video.

Look for under $0.40/disc as a good starting point. $0.25/disc would be a great find. :)

yeah not big on memorex either, they are usually rebranded cheapo CMC magnetics, i try to get fuji, sony, verbatim, maxell, tdk from the stores, or ritek g05 or ty from online, not that cheap either, just about every week since the summer, one of the major electronics/office retailers are running a 50 pack for 14.99 or 100 pack for 29.99 or cheaper, so i don't buy for over that anymore. it seems that is now the standard sale price. check out salescircular.com for info on this. like ripn says, if possible try to find discs made in japan, the dye is superior. circuit city has 50 pack nextech's this week for 9.99 if you want some cheap discs, though I would not recommend them for video, only maybe giving them out to friends or temporary data.

I decided to give the ritek g05 a try from meritline.com. They're on sale for 27.99 for 100.

I was pretty impressed that they take paypal too. Really cool since I had enough of a balance to pay for my purchase :D
