Dr. Pepper 12pks (cans) are 4 for 10$ or 2.50 each. At my target the 12pks (Dr. Pepper only) had coupon stickers that peeled off for an additional $1 off so I only paid $1.50 for a 12pk of Dr. Pepper. I thought that was an AWESOME deal!

That's a great deal. Target always had great deals on soda where I lived before. Here it seems soda prices are alot higher. What does everyone pay normally for a 2 liter?

In N. Michigan 2 liters run $1.19 but one (pepsi, coke or 7up) is usually on sale for $.99. DH works for Pepsi though so I haven't bought soda from a store in years, except on vacation, when we can cheat and order a coke in a resturant!;) ;)

How about sending me a case of "expired" pepsi products lol. Just kidding. What do they do when it goes past the date? Soda, in cans anyway, really does not go flat for years. Just curious if they sell it to salvage stores or destroy it?

UGH I was just at Target last night getting the 24 pk of water for $4. Didn't even look at the sodas.

Hmm, wait, maybe that's a good thing. LOL

LOL! Most product does have to be destroyed once it's out of date, especially diet and anything with milk ingredients like frappachino. The rest of it ends up in our fridge! I'm not sure with other bottlers of Pepsi but Pepsi Bottling Group doesn't sell old product to stores or to anywhere else, someone told me it would be a liablity for them to do so! I LOVE out of dates, especially since they raised the employee pricing of cases .. we used to get 24 20oz bottles for $4 with no deposit (10 cents per bottle here) then we'd return the bottles to the store .. so total price was $1.60 a case, or $.07 a bottle! Cheaper than drinking water! :trampolin

Edited to add: Even though the soda doesn't go flat it does "leach" chemicals from the container it's in (which is also why bottled water is dated) and other chemical reactions go on which makes it unsafe to drink. Soda does get flat from exposure to light and extreme temperatures, so soda in cans do stay bubblier longer than those in plastic! Yum ... I can't belive how much Pepsi and Dew I drink, esp. since I've learned what happens to it all! Let me tell you how much fun it is to try and get really old, really syrupy mt. dew out of clothing! Uck, it's like melted gummy bears!

Thanks for letting us know. I went to Target last night and got 4 12 pks. Dr. Peppers and 4 12 pks. Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper for $1.50 each. I actually got some pretty good deals on almost everything I bought. They have goldfish crackers for $1.00 a pack and if you got the coupons in the mail from Target, you save $1.00 if you buy 3(3 bags for $2.00). I also got 2 100 oz. Tides for $9.00, using another one of the coupons. One last thing that I thought was a good deal is they had a box of 4 pk poptart(chocolate fudge, hot fudge sundae, cookies and cream, and smores) for $5.00($1.25 a box). My kids love the chocolate ones, so I couldn't pass that up. I'll probably go back and get more Dr. Pepper(before the sale ends) and poptarts. By the way I went to Giant Eagle last night and 12 pks. had the coupons on them too, but was not on sale, so I am assuming that most places will probably have Dr. Pepper 12 pks. with coupons! Thanks again!!

How did you get them to give you drinks? Dh worked in sales for Pepsi and they were complete @$$e$ they wouldn't give them anything. They had a huge overstock when "company" was coming in and ordered way too much and they actually hired 2 people to come in and pour out the out of date product, almost 2 trailer loads. I drink coke, always have and they threatened to fire dh for being in thier parking lot with a coke bottle in his (meaning ours, not company owned)truck. I think the whole time he worked there they gave him three t-shirts. Maybe it just varies by plants.

Wow! I guess Coke is like that up here! There are stories of Coke guys getting in trouble for eating at a resturant that serves Pepsi! The depot here though is pretty mellow but has gotten so much stricter in the last couple of years. I can't imagine them hiring people to come in and dump product though .. I think they send what doesn't get disposed of back on the transport trucks. It may be different too because there's Pepsi Corporate in the same building as PBG and it's just a warehouse, there's no production or anything going on .. We  Pepsi and so far it's been pretty good to us! I think it helps that the big bosses were drivers or sales guys or worked in the warehouse and know how tough the job can be rather than some kid right out of college that has a degree but no experience!

Edited to add ... we still buy soda from Pepsi .. it's just a DEEP discount over store prices!

That is how the plant where he worked was offices and packing plant the bottling was at another facility. But yeah, the whole hiring the 2 to pour out the drinks blew me away, they could have given it to the employees or to a shelter or a school.

We ran into one of the bosses at the mall we were both ordering chinese food, and he purposely walked halfway across the food court to Taco Bell to get his family Pepsi's. I looked at dh and said if he even tries to say anything to you I am gonna tear into him and slap a lawsuit on him first thing Monday morning. He didn't say anything but he gave us a GTH look for ordering coke.
