Marcster Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 Labgeek: "Add a monitor and go..." Not to mention... figure out how to use Linspire 5.0! There is no version of Windows included with this computer! I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but with 95% of the world using Windows, and this computer doesn't have it... Linspire is "The World's Easiest Desktop Linux". http://www.linspire.com/
labgeek Posted January 24, 2006 Author Posted January 24, 2006 Have you ever seen linspire? As the old urban lengend of tech support goes: If you can't figure out how to use it, pack the thing back in the box and return it, you shouldn't have a computer. And considering the cost of a Windows license did you expect it to come with one? But then some people have to have something to complain about.

People shouldn't plan on being able to just install their printer drivers, Kodak photoshare, HP scanner, etc. from CD. They're going to need to search online for the Linux versions (if they exist). The Outpost listing doesn't make a big deal about it, and I figured it would be easy for people to get caught up in the price and forget to review all the details...

RossMAN Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 never head of it but not bad price i'll have to think abot itThis is a good deal for a cheap PC but if you're willing to wait, there may be better deals. For example, two weeks ago CompUSA had the Compaq sr1710nx for $125 after rebates. It was so hot that I bought one, almost two. The Compaq is obviously $75 cheaper, a major name brand, has 1 year warranty and better specs. But that deal is dead and there were $250 rebates to deal with as well.
