For those of you who are weary of INGDirect.com (an online bank), rest assured they are FDIC insured just like other traditional brick and mortar banks are. However they have significantly less "overhead", passing on the savings to their customers with better than average rates.

I recently got an ING direct account. The interest rate is spectacular, plus the couple day layover before getting my money makes it easier to pass on large purchases.

I know several people who have taken advantage of their free automatic savings plan. Even if you save $20 every 2 weeks it sure does add up.
