jaymacfla Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Sams will have the Vizio 5.1 wireless soundbar for $199.00Soundbars are fine, but not for surround sound. You may just have to wait for a few more ads to come out, especially Newegg, Fry's, etc. I built one from the ground up using different stores to find what I needed. Best Buy used to have great deals on the receivers, but this year, it misses the mark by $100. I actually have two 500 watt systems, but the other is run by one of my computers. You can snag some great deals on piece-meal items to build a great system if you shop around.

mcwalker Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 (edited) There are a number of surround sound systems in the listings now. Look under the "Electronics" category. This is a key item that I am shopping for. Two that I have seen good reviews for are not in the ads: First is the Energy Take Classic 5.1 Home Theater system. Amazon has it for $350. Its speakers are larger (and better sounding) than some of the small speakers that come in some of the advertised packages. Amazon listing is here: http://www.amazon.com/Energy-Classic-Theater-System-Black/dp/B001202C44/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1384737497&sr=8-1&keywords=energy+take+classic+5 Another is a direct competitor to the Energy Take 5.1, produced by www.Monoprice.com, which is a favorite site for electronic cables, TV mounts and many other items at unbeatable prices. Their Premium 5.1-Ch. Home Theater System with Subwoofer, which goes for $250, can be found here: http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=109&cp_id=10906&cs_id=1090601&p_id=10565&seq=1&format=2 I should add that these are not wireless. See the listings for some wireless systems. Edited November 19, 2013 by mcwalker
gbeenie Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Do you just need surround speakers for an existing system? Or are you starting from scratch?
Peppermint Posted November 19, 2013 Author Posted November 19, 2013 My husband mentioned he liked the sound bar so I was just looking for that.

gbeenie Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 I strongly suggest you try to get one with multiple HDMI inputs. The flexibility can come in handy down the road. 1
nirvana4all Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Try this, Sonos is awesome quality, http://www.jr.com/sonos/pe/SNH_PLAY5BLACK/got it from the JR ad brad linked to.
gbeenie Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 I'm sure the Sonos is nice and all (and at that price, it better be); but, nothing about what I'm seeing really says "home theatre."
nirvana4all Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 It is a whole wireless home audio and internet system. You can listen to music, tv, etc wirelessly anywhere on property as well as it will carry your internet signal there too. My buddy loves using it to listen to and watch football games on the TV, but then if he goes out to the grill, or the boat dock, or to work on car he has a speaker set up there as well so he just listens to it wherever he is. He also has a good bit of $$.
