DaFees Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 THANK YOU. I have been waiting for this one the most but now it is out. Unfortunately this ad has only made my decisions more difficult rather than easier. 1
Tigger97498 Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Ok that made my decision easier as to where to get my Kindle because shockingly thats the 2nd generation regular Kindle Fire not the HD.
pogiporkchop Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Why do I feel like I'm going to be shopping for a printer yet again? Maybe because DH always finds one he has to have, and he's bound to be interested in the wireless ones...

I may get a couple. Also looking for a deal on an 8.9" HDX.

My eyes are getting worse so considering the bigger screen but wondering if it makes much of a difference. I don't minding spending extra if it helps me, but I can't seem to get anyone's opinion who has seen both.

I don't think it makes much difference when you are reading a book, playing a game, or watching a movie, but it makes a big difference when you are looking at a web page, editing a word document, or working on a spreadsheet. When I travel, I prefer the original Fire since it slips into my pants pocket which is handy when you need your hands for other things. Bottom line is that my kid has no preference and my wife prefers the 8.9" model. I guess you will need to figure out what you are going to do with your fire and go from there.
len_mullen Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 I would definitely head over to Staples or Best Buy to hold one of each before making a decision. 1

I look at alot of web pages, i.e. Gotta deal, etc and I struggle on the 7 in ( for viewing web pages,I don't suppose there is any way to increase font or make bold is there?) I definitely check email, am on web more than playing any game/movies. to look at the black friday ads for example I absolutely had to go to my desktop to view THANKS Much for YOUR INPUT I'll be putting my in my purse, so I have some extra space Edited November 14, 2013 by allshoppedout
Bopeep Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 I went from the 7" to the 8.9", and I can see a difference. My main reason for going bigger was to load the ads and keep it with me on BF . I could do it on the 7", but it's a bigger difference than you might think on the 8.9.

I have an Asus 10" tablet with keyboard and I can see fine. I also have problems with smaller ones. Also Staple is going to have the Microsoft Surface for $249 with a keyboard and it is a 10". Works like a 10" laptop almost (with touch screen)
fyramos Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Thinking about heading to Staples during this to grab that Nexus 7. Anyone know what the limit is on things like this? If I could get two, that'd be amazing.
