pogiporkchop Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 The WM closest to me has at least ten storage units (of holiday, I bet) out back. While I haven't seen Christmas items yet I will not be surprised if, when I go there this afternoon, I do see holiday items. If popular items sell early then there will be complaints of outages come Thanksgiving when people are swarming the stores. Some stores are just better than others, though, at making things happen and it really comes down to the attitudes of employees. I can see this quite clearly when I look at the location closest to me and another one maybe five miles away or so on the same road. No matter what is done someone will be complaining - and likely the ones who complain about items being out too early will be the same ones who complain when they're not in stock come holiday time.
momee2twins Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 They have pallets and end caps stuffed already at ours.
2chia Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Well. I was just at my this morning. They got the Xmas trees on the top of the aisle shelf , I didn't went to that section to see what else was in the aisle.
santaclaus Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 There is all kinds of Christmas stuff at the Walmart I go to. Christmas Trees, inflatables, ornaments and lights, I didn't see any gift wrap but that doesn't 't mean it wasn't there somewhere.

misshayley Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 Talked to my sister who works there and she said her store isn't scaling back, they tons of toys and Christmas stuff and more in storage
msomnipotent Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Talked to my sister who is a manager at a relatively big Wal-mart. They are scaling back on seasonal clothes because they just got a HUGE shipment and can't even fit it all in the store. It has nothing to do with seasonal merchandise like toys or decorations, which she has heard nothing about scaling back. They are expecting business as usual for Christmas.

Saw quite a few people (mainly young like college students-we have a lot here being a college town and all ) buying Christmas stuff today. The Halloween items are down to 1 aisle (all at 75% off) and Christmas has started to take over. I didn't hear Christmas music yet but I'm sure it won't take long. I'm so excited for BF- can't hardly wait! Edited November 3, 2013 by Bobbi0125
