bk11235,

I'd be more than happy to help you find some great deals from Orlando. I've got a few questions first--

  • Do you have a place to stay (hotel, house, etc.)?
  • How many people are in your family (number of adults and children)?
  • How many days will you want to go to Universal? (1-day 2-park, 2-day 2-park, etc.)
  • Do you want to go to Universal Studios, Unverisal Island of Adventure or both?

Again, I'm here to help you-- and I hope that I can help you in finding some great deals.

Aaron,

Thank you for your time.

I already booked the place to stay and rent a car. I’m coming with my wife, only 2 of us. We have one day pass to MGM. We are planning to go to Universal Studios and one more park (not sure which one). We will travel to Daytona Beach and back to Orlando and we are looking for some food deals. We will celebrate my birthday on December 12 in one of the restaurants in Orlando :) any good deals on birthday?

Sorry for my English!

Sincerely,

Andrew

Hi bk...I live only about 30 minutes from Disney. I dont personally know of any discounts online, but once you get here, you can find lots of coupons and discounts. Most of the restaurants/shops, etc. in the areas have coupon books and such in their lobbys. So make sure to look around and pick those up wherever you find one. Also, not sure if you have your tickets for the parks yet, but in the tourist areas, you will find booths outside many restaurants and stores that sell half used hopper tickets. These are the tickets that people buy for like 7 days and only use 5 days worth. The customers will then go and sell to these booths their half used tickets to redeem some of their money back. The only last suggestion I have is to make a post on any forums that you belong to or even something like craiglist to ask those that have the entertainment books for the area if there are any coupons that they will not be using out of the books that you can pay a few bucks for and save some money that way. Good luck....it's really nice down here lately :)

Uhhhh...you cant really use those anymore since they started the whole fingerprint thing...that was what it intended to stop.

ETA: When you go to Disney they have scanners that read your fingerprint & associate it with your ticket. You have to scan it each time.

The fingerprint thing was done when they revamped the tickets. They never had an expiration date, now they do unless you pay the extra $$ for it. the fingerprint activated the ticket for the specific time period. ie the 5 day pass has to be used within 7 days.

So the No Exp tix dont have fingerprints???? We were wondering how those booths could still be open...lol. Good to know! And they were very strict about the fingerprints when we went in Feb.

Best Disney deals that I know of can be found on mousesavers.com. Mary has the best advice around on EVERYTHING Disney related.

Also, another thumbs up for wdwinfo.com. Great forum there.

We were just at Disney World in November. They were also doing biometric finger scans on the non-expiry tickets..my son's ticket was non-expiry.
