Brad Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 Just to give you all a heads up as to what we are going to be doing: Sometime tomorrow we are going to be merging the Black Friday and Holiday Discussion forums into one (basically just bringing the 200+ threads from the holiday board to this one) and renaming it to something more generic like "Holidays & Holiday Shopping". That "new" merged board will be for continuing your discussion of: - Black Friday - holiday shopping & sales - general holiday discussion Like last year, we'll keep that board open until shortly after the first of the year, at which point it will be closed (you'll still be able to read the old posts) and archived like the 2004 board currently is. All the other boards on the forum will be remaining open, and we may be adding one or two more boards depending on the traffic the forum is getting. Next year's BF site will have an expanded forum section, with a few new subforums to hopefully keep things a little more organized, but that's a long ways away and I don't even want to think about it just yet If you have any questions, reply to this thread and let us know :)
RossMAN Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 Wow the dancing fruit is so ... mesmerizing
saturnboy01 Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 Im already underway for prepping for BF2006. I will start making my bi-weekly deposits into my savings accounts in a few weeks. I plan to spend a lot more next year! I passed up on a few good deals I wanted to get cause I was short on this year (but next year I wont be!). My BF2006 plan of attack: 1. First stop: BB.....
Gporter34 Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 I am definitely going to start stashing early. I can't wait to see what great ideas you guys have for BF2006!!! I'm thinking more money is not all I will need next year: mace, suit of armor, knee and shin guards, and a helmet.lol
saturnboy01 Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 Does anyone know if they are going to be having any BIG sales leading up to X-mas besides the reg. sales they have?
Brad Posted November 26, 2005 Author Posted November 26, 2005 Also a few more things: 1. The BF site itself will be converted to an "archived" version in the next few days. The ad lists will still be up, but your shopping lists won't be available so if, for whatever reason, you want to do anything with your shopping list, do it in the next day: http://blackfriday.gottadeal.com/list.php. This archived version of the BF site will be up for a few weeks/months, at least until the end of the year. 2. The actual Black Friday scans (which you can get here: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=15792) will be removed before the end of the year, so if you need to save them for whatever reason, do so now. If later on you need some information from one of the ads, send me a PM and I'll look it up. 3. On Monday, things will pretty much be "back to normal" here on GD. RossMAN and I will be on the forum, but (at least speaking for myself) maybe not as much as I was in the weeks leading up to BF. So if you post something that needs our attention and we don't get to it as quickly as we have been doing, you'll know why :) Also most new deals we post will be in the regular deal forums, so if you have stayed here in the BF forum for the last 2 months, you might want to check out the other boards. 4. Kind of off-topic but the drawings for the charity contest and the last 2 gift cards will be held on 11/30. We'll have some new contests very soon as well as some new items added to the GottaPoints store.

Mommie2one Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 Im looking forward to the Day after christmas sales now! I buy tons of my wrapping supplies then (paper, tags, bows etc). I also find great giftsets at Walmart. If someone has the dates when it goes from 25% off and higher, please let me know.

mjmcca Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 Thanks for keeping us "in the loop" about the future changes around here. I love the fact that I have found out about a lot of deals here not just BF ones.
Gporter34 Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 I plan to stick around but it will definiitely be weird to not see the BF forums alive and kicking. At least we can go back and look at the though. Thanks for keeping us informed.
outnumbered Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 I plan to stick around but it will definiitely be weird to not see the BF forums alive and kicking. At least we can go back and look at the though. Thanks for keeping us informed.LOL. It felt like that for me last year after BF because I found the site while looking for BF 2004 ads. Seemed strange to be in the Lounge and not talking about BF-related things. Fast forward a year and it felt weird to have the BF forum back up, LOL. You'll get used to it quickly. :)
meow62 Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 I found this site through another site and admittedly, I've check out the BF forum more than the other ones. And I agree; it is somewhat of a let-down now that BF is over, but now we can recuperate and look forward to next year's event! At least now I'll be able to devote time to checking out the other areas on this site. Just wanted to say "thanks" for all the hard work and great information. It helped me be a better-informed shopper. And it taught me that if I want anything at BB next year, I'll be in line before the sun goes down Thanksgiving day!
